Re: "Personal monitoring system" design

most excellent.. thanks a heap. plan is to whack together a dead bug (to 8 pin socket) of mictester's lm386 cos... no etching or cutting board, heh. I put together a simpler one last night and it works a treat, but picks up radio and is a lil noisy.. hoping MT's is clearer... cheers!

Re: Little Headphone Amp

I'm looking at building a headphone amp for our drummer (personal monitoring).. would this be suitable or is it more 'guitar oriented'?.. I was just gonna take an aux feed from the 'thru' of a powered monitor speaker... Take a look at the TDA2822M. It's a dual 1W amp chip in a DIP8 packag...

Re: "Personal monitoring system" design

hmm.. thanks.. it just went past my level of understanding  I may just use an lm386 amp like MicTesters. in a similar chase of 'free-lunch' ... I'm hoping to use a couple of rechargable AAA batteries. that'd be a grand total of 2.4V.. I have googled "max1044 calculator" (and 7660 calculator) a...

Re: "Personal monitoring system" design

Actually, if I had to use discrete transistors as a buffer after an opamp, I would use a diamond follower (resistor biased). It uses 4 transistors instead of 2, but it is a perfect design. Do you happen to have a working example (that could be used as a headphone amp), looks interesting and could b...

Re: a tube box on 9V

I agree Darkrain, 9V would mean that the cathodes of the valve aren't able to reach their full electron-emission capabilities, also, I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you run a valve at a lower heater voltage, it can lead to something called "Cathode Poisoning", incidentaly, I tried buil...

Re: DIY mini drill press

Atreidesheir posted before http://www.instructables.com/id/Micro-Drill-Press/ The point is, you need more room, like the example above or like a sewer machine  you might, but I don't  the link above is actually what inspired me (I'd been asking work colleagues if they had any old micros...

Re: two in one out splitter box.

dredge. so, I'm looking at making a stompbox.. a proper one.. I have a wee looper, and I play acoustic guitar into it. I want to hook up a car speaker to a piece of plywood so I can thump my foot on it to get a 'drum' beat kinda sound. I am thinking I'll stick an input jack on the thing that the gui...

Hotone Audio - Wally Looper - SMD

soooo cute and tiny.. makes all my 1590a pedals look like whales. prolly zero chance of anyone tracing it, but I've take gutshots to show the majesty of the engineering. review? well initially I hooked up an external battery (Specs say it only draws 37mv so should have been sweet) but in retrospect ...

Re: Mini/Small enclosure pedals

thought it time for an update since I just added a tuner to the board. picked up the polytune noir for a fair price so had to attach that to the board. I kicked off the tremolo cos it just doesn't get any use when I gig. I've also since added a clock into the thing cos I never wear a watch and never...

welcome to the forum bondieffects. have a nosey round this place, it's a wealth of knowledge, you'll also find several pleas from various builders with the same concern. the response is overwhelmingly "if a hobby site posting schematics is going to stop you feeding your family, you're in the wrong b...

possibly he's experiencing the similar issue as many have on the little angel where the pt2399 locks up and a power cycle is needed?
