Re: Keeler Designs Push
Damn. My bad. I just saw you asked what opamp. I used a rc4558 and a jrc4580. It works great with whatever you put in it.

Re: Budda Chakra Compressor [schematic]
I'm really on the hunt for a non ota comp and I want to build this one correctly. So, the 2w10 diode bridge has a max Vf of 1.1v, could I just sub that with rectifier diodes? Or do I just need to pony up and order one? I know what a bridge does and is I'm just curious if the diode type matter as much.

Yes, please upload some. Photobucket has laid a total clanger on my gut shot search lately.Nacho5 wrote:I recently buy this pedal. It's sound great. If you want some inside pics just ask me.
I've been wanting to make one of these verbatim for a while.

Re: Throbak strangmaster [traced]
I didn't take time to write anything down when I had it, now thinking about it I'm almost certain it was an 2n2222a. Plus, They use them in alotta other pedals they make, so I'm pretty sure that is it. I'll see if the new owner can take some board shots and get back to me. I wanna make one myself, b...

Re: Throbak strangmaster [traced]
Dont get upset if I'm wrong but I think it was a bc108b in mine or maybe a 2n2222. I had it a while back and never messed with it because it sounded pretty good as it was.

Re: E-WAVE Giant Distortion Schematic
@roseblood11: It didn't make a whole Hell of alotta difference in the sound without them. I'm wondering if there is some EE type reason for that or if I did something wrong. I used Miro's layout above as soon as he put it up. And Manfred thanks for all this data. I really appreciate the time and eff...

Re: E-WAVE Giant Distortion Schematic
Thats good to know. I always hook up the 2n7000 up the wrong way, glad to know that it sounds the same in this one no matter how I do it. I'm gonna try the zendrive trick with the germanium diode for true mosfet clipping today and see what that sounds like. I am still shocked this sounds as damn goo...

I dont have 2n3819....I only got j201 and 2n5457. I heard it cant be a straight substitute without altering the leg of the fet. Can someone help me with a simple schem or layout on the clipping part...thanks 2n3819 http://www.hawestv.com/amp_projects/fet_preamp/fetamp_art/2N3819pinout.png 2n5457 ht...

I have seen a few iterations like this one. It does look like the foam rubber was removed and those trannies are right.Swan warriors wrote:Is this one is authentic mxr?

Re: Way Huge Conquistador fuzz
Regarding the pedal, I am 99% sure that this is another pedal based on the Big Muff maybe black Russian, with some mods. I'd argue it's definitely not a big muff. No clipping diodes. Q4 and Q5 are connected together. Parts count is way too low. That's why I said maybe Tone Bender-esque, not a muff ...

Re: Way Huge Conquistador fuzz
Looks like a Tonebender to me. [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif] AFAIK, the upper board is just a buffer/power setup. I gotta agree with this. It looks like a silicon tonebender. That big tranny is probably a bd139-esque low gain so its not balls out fuzzy. And the upper board is like in Danelectro peda...

Re: Request for prescription electronics cob part list
Those would be styroflex (polystyrene) they are generally used for the smaller value caps but I've seen them up to 100nf. I've seen a few different type caps in these from the cheapo green Mylar chicklets to the blue poly 7.5mm pitch ones. He also uses the basic 1/4w carbon film 5% tolerance resisto...

I think there was one in the original tracer layout thread , not sure now as photo bucket is saying everyone has exceeded their 3rd party limit. I've seen a few around. Check the perf and pcb blog ,geofex. I think Bajaman has one on here actually the Wizard or something.

Re: Rockfabrik - Mind Abuse Distortion
I'm so damn glad you posted this. I had been looking for the name of this for a while. I saw a demo a bit ago but forgot the name altogether. I assumed it was a 386 design like the krank distortus maximus / protone body rot. Now I am guessing its more a modded Marshall type design a la guv'nor or so...

Re: Langtronics - Bone Collector
Yeah that is what I was thinking, I know I've seen this setup before. The dual opamp and a 555 oscillator and the 386 for drive/ fuzz. In any case if I run back across A working schematic I'll pop it up. I can't help much on color codes until I get to A proper pc monitor, you can't measure them unle...

Re: Monster Effects Mastortion
Thank you sir.
I am even more perplexed now. I assumed it was maybe a dist + variant
Perhaps its a voodoo labs overdrive derivative.
I gotta look at this a bit closer on my pc not my phone to be sure exactly what's going on.
