Re: Amptweaker - Defizzerator [traced]
The circuit would make more sense with the 15n connected to the pot instead of ground. Otherwise, the pot does nothing in the switch middle position.

Re: GM Fuzz Up FD-3B
When I was drawing the schematic, the emitter/collector orientations really bothered me. If the above schematic is correct, the transistor pin layout is the rare CEB. ECB Makes more sense, but then the transistors would be in "reverse beta" ( http://www.muzique.com/lab/reverse.htm ) config...

Re: GM Fuzz Up FD-3B
Here's a best guess schematic, no idea how the pots connect. Forgot the electrolytic from R5 to ground.

I don't think Mr. Viola will mind me posting this to the forum. Please delete if causes trouble, etc. etc.

That series/parallel blend is very creative. Gets my mind goin' - what about a light fuzz as the first gain stage? etc. etc. Lots to think about.

Re: Devi Ever - Ruby, 90, Hounds Tooth
Are you saying that the transistors are attached Collector to Collector, Base to Base, and Emitter to Emitter? I would assume the PNP would be connected Emitter to NPN collector. But, I wouldn't want to assume. Connected Emitter to Collector should give a crude octave/wavefolder effect. And sound g...

Yeah, I'm on a Gnome based Linux, and the built-in pdf viewer can get wonky. I use Firefox to view them when this happens. Seems like a kludge, but it works fine.

Re: JHS Morning Glory V4 [traced]
Some thoughts off the top of my head: -The 4.5V supply LM833 may be oscillating. -Despite using a BJT input opamp, JHS used the 1M bias resistor for the 1st audio op amp like the Bluesbreaker (and KOT) it is derived from. Originally the Bluesbreaker used a 072 fet input opamp which doesn't need as m...

Re: JHS Colour Box [traced]
Dunno if this has been mentioned before, but the 6-transistor "clean" section of the WH Pork Loin replicates the old Neve discrete amplifier circuits. Mr. WH must've figured out that they run on 9v without any modification. I would guess that JHS noticed this, grabbed the old Neve preamp s...

From the beginning part up to the volume control is very close to the Nobels ODR-1 with a fixed "Spectrum" control.

Re: Mesa Boogie - Throttle Box [schematic]
For the tone potentiometer, a 20K potentiometer is required. However, I can only find a 20K W-taper that is also used with a Tubescreamer. Can I also use this for this? Or do I have to go to a 25K version? The tone control here works the same way the Tubescreamer tone does, so a 20k W-taper should ...

Re: Ibanez ES 2 Echo Shifter
First thought: where is the compander? The ADAU1701 has 2 audio ADCs and 4 audio DACS - it is possible that this chip provides compander-ing, filtering and/or other audio processing.

IMO those are pictures of two different pedals. The bottom picture has wires going to different places and no sign of the big transistors.
