Re: Report Forum problems here
Not loving the new font... any way you could make a new "FSB Classic" theme that puts things back the way they were? I don't mind the broader graphic tweaks from the forum upgrade, it's just the font change from a few days ago that's throwing me for a loop. I first tried switching back to ...

Re: can I build an effects pedal with side jacks and top jacks
Ben, Thanks for the info - yeh, your right I wouldn't need to make the 'unused' jack sockets void - I'd just leave them be...I wouldn't want to input two sources or output to two amps anyway. I've often wondered why nobody offers this sort of layout as it would be super versatile? I'm about to buil...

Re: Boss DC-2 pushbutton switches
im confused. are the mode selection switches for the dc-2 SPDT or DPDT? Two need to be DPDT, one can be SPDT (but little point to sourcing a second type of part when you can just use another DPDT instead). The first switch on the DC-2 just disengages the other three switches, so if you're building ...

Re: Danelectro The Breakdown ?
According to the Premier Guitar review , it's nothing more exotic than 2N3904s. I'm curious too, but I ain't shelling out $150 for a BJT booster. In that same review they say it's a clone of the Univox Uni-Drive UD50 - here's the FSB thread on that one: https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?...

Re: Pete Cornish - SS-3 Soft Sustain [traced]
Looking at the lowCut A pot, actually it is a variable lowpass filter so it cut the high not the bass. @aionios are you sure of the dual gang of this pot? I think that the dual gang pots are those named LowCut A and HiCut as those two pot form a lowpass filter and cuts treble from the signal. Very,...

Re: Looking for unusual 3PDT from Danelectro Cool Cat
I haven't ever seen them used anywhere outside of the Cool Cat series so I am pretty confident they would have had them custom made. The only other shot you've got is if you can see a part number in the plastic mold for the switch - sometimes just googling whatever numbers you can find will turn up ...

Pete Cornish - SS-3 Soft Sustain [traced]
Okay, so I've been keeping a secret - I actually traced two Cornish pedals this summer, not just one. (The other is the OC-1 Optical Compressor .) The SS-3 is an update to the earlier SS-2, which had been sort-of traced by way of the Skrydstrup ODR-2 which was rumored to be a clone of the SS-2. But ...

Pete Cornish - OC-1 Optical Compressor [traced]
All right, the legendary Mystery Pedal™ is finally done! I traced the Cornish OC-1 Optical Compressor over the summer and today I'm ready to share it. Pete claims this is an all-original circuit design, and fortunately I can confirm that it's not quite like anything I've seen before. The audio path ...

Re: Pearl PH-03 issue
Maybe photo evidence can help clear things up... mine is a Motorola MC14069UB for IC4. The pads on the trace side are fully lacquered with the rest of the PCB, indicating it's never been replaced or repaired. pearl-ph03-pcb-1600px.jpg I can only imagine that there are two versions. Maybe the 4069 wa...

Re: Pete Cornish - Mystery Pedal [gooped][x-ray'd]
Designing this in too small a foot print and using design choices more appropriate for digital circuits does not help you achieve all that you can ring out of the schematic design intent. You can of course can get the layout to work to some level, but not the best you could achieve tone wise. with ...

...And yes, there is an opto-isolator
It was installed vertically on the PCB so it didn’t show up very clearly in the X-ray.
That probably narrows it down a bit!

nothing yet? I don't mean to tease, the layout's just extremely tight and it's been kicking me in the pants the past month or so. I finally was able to hunker down and finish it though. An appetizer... https://i.postimg.cc/9XdcVyS5/image.png Now shooting for the end of November for this, assuming p...
