Re: Maestro - USS-1 [schematic]

I'm gonna try to dump all the info I've collected on the USS-1 but it seems that files posted on this forum has to be < 1MB so I'll do it it multiple posts. About the pdf PCB layout: Magenta traces are on the component side, Green solder points are ground (actual ground traces is easy to figure out....

Re: Maestro - The Sustainer [schematic]

This was my attempt at making sense of the PCB layout presented here: https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3552&hilit=maestro+sustainer. Without having actually seen the component side I guessed on the use of FET's. This is the SS-3 version though -is this the version you're w...

Re: Systech - Phase Shifter

hmmm, discofreq's is different than the other one above. Is that a phase 90 versus the phase 100? There were three versions of the Systech Phase Shifter; First off was 4 stages of FET -based allpass filters, Second version was 6 stages of FET -based allpass filters, Third version was 6 stages of op...

Re: Vorg - F-502 Warp Sound (Pearl F-602)

This is a schematic I made from pictures in this thread. There's just a few resistor values missing in places where they don't matter much. For the "27...?" try 2K7 or 270R

Peace out

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

OK... Success (I think  ) I went back to the resistors, keeping only the trimmer subbing for the 390 Ohm. On a whim, I swapped out all the NPN trannies for 2N5088's and kept the 2N3406 in the PNP. After several hours of poking and proding, and head scratching trying to understand the inter rel...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Hi /M, Just a verification; The voltage posted after the 27K resistor, is that a "4v"? I'm assuming that's a 4, but it's not that clear. Of course, 4v makes perfect sense, considering what's comming down the pipe. I can't seem to get the 0.6v at the base of tranny 6. I've managed to get a...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Thank you soooo much for the info. I won't have time tonight, but tomorrow I should be able to make some more headway. I'll pay close attention to the voltages. I think I was taking the voltages for the B trimmer from the wrong place. I go over it again. As i mentioned, it has great promise. If I c...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Just one last thing I forgot to mention: Trimmer B sets the bias current for output stage transistors T8 and T6. The 390 ohm resistor protects them from passing to much current > if you set trimmer B to high the effective V+ at the collector of T8 will just drop protecting T6 and T8 from frying (hop...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Well, I was intrigued enough to breadboard this baby. It's a very raunchy fuzz. It can go from really thin Maestro fuzz, to a more Muffish tone. Pretty good spread. Just some things that i noticed though; Studying the schematic vis a vis the solder side shot, there maybe an error on the schem. Corr...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

Thanks to Nightraven there's now only 4 unknowns left in this puzzle. A updated schematic is attached to this post. These are my beliefs about the general circuit and the missing component values: Like I've said before; the circuit looks like it came straight out of a late 60's / early 70's transist...

Re: WEM - Project V [schematic]

nice work! could the component between q1 E and q2 B be a capacitor rather than a resistor? Thanks capricorn_1, Yeah I know what you mean, it sure looks odd for a resistor but it can't be a capacitor because without DC bias Q2 wouldn't conduct at all, it could be (and looks like) an inductor though...
