Re: MEC WARWICK 3 BAND EQ RF ISSUE [schematic]
so... thanks to all parties above for schems. this is on my 'must try' list and since I've had some time on my hands this weekend... I did a layout and will wire one up sooner or later. Just wanted to share. Have checked it 3x (not saying I'm incapable of mistakes!). My layout is setup to mount the ...

Re: Baja low noise low current drain bass guitar preamp 1212 [documentation]
I decided to do a layout for the 2sk117 version, excited to try it out in a future bass build. This layout is setup to mount on a push/pulll pot w a board mount pot for the treble. Posting here in case anyone cares to try my humble layout. Thank you so much Baja for all of the wonderful things you s...

Re: A.R.T SGX 2000 11 X
well... use it yes... use it how you envision using it... who knows. you'll have to snag a manual and look at the midi implementation of it. looks like it has midi out on the foot pedal -> midi in on the rack -> midi thru port on the rack to your quad(I'm not sure you could program the pedal w/o plu...

not MY project: dimension p
hello, so... I'm not sure on the ethical aspects of my post so If I transgress I trust I'll be told. Over at diystompboxes there is a schem that 'cynicalman' created using two pt2399 to make a pseudo-dimension c. I've wanted to try a dimension c for quite a while and the two layouts I have seen, as ...

Re: Standard Les Paul wiring with on-off for middle pickup
all you need to do is wire the extra pickup live to an spdt switch, then the spdt switch to the volume control of your choice, or you could wire it straight to the output jack. then of course the ground to ground on the back of one of the pots.

Re: Germanium Transistors
getting back to russian transistors... hopefully someone will find this usefull... I bought a lot of gt311 and mp20. the gt311 were listed with gains of 80-300, as I recall the mp20s were 80-150? after using the geofx method to test for hfe with leakage taken into consideration... of 17 gt311s I got...

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
http://www.turretboards.com/layouts_schematics/vjr/fenderish_mod.pdf on this layout... the input jack ground isn't connected to anything... yet the two ground lugs on the stereo jack are connected together... this is just an omission or oversight right? I mean, I should connect the input jack shiel...

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
phatt... thanks for the heads up. I couldn't find any info on my multimeter so I guess I'll have to snag a decent (catII) one prior to doing any post plug in testing. tictac... good to know. I was planning on using my 5w 10k, and two alligator clips and just leaving it connected so they don't rechar...

your heart is in the right place deltafred, and I don't want anyone to get hurt either (especially not me!), but I don't think it's fair to call merlinb's comment advice per se. He is just a bit cavalier.

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
hehe, even chocolate cake is lethal in the right dose right? don't think I'd like to find out about 300v but I appreciate the knowledge. so you've taken a high voltage shock then? when I was a kid we had a garbage disposal that apparently wasn't grounded well... I got one hell of a shock from the wa...

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
I appreciate your comments. I'm practicing the one handed stuff while working on things I know have no power right now... and it's easier than I would have thought to accidentally touch something. I think once I'm at the point were I fire up and have issues... a good pair of electrical gloves might ...

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
right, my electrician friend told me to use the screwdriver method... not doing that! ahh, less resistance = quicker discharge... that would make sense. I was aware that anything over 25v was a roll of the dice and 300v is almost sure death. believe me, once I charge them up... I'm gonna be very ner...

Re: general questions re my first adventure in high voltage.
yup, I am asking how to discharge and keep myself safe. thanks drnormis, mysticwhiskey for taking the time. afa 5w 330ohm, yes, I posted this because it seemed to me that I should be using something like a 10-25k resistor -as a greater value would mean a quicker discharge... the orig owner gave me t...

Re: 2 8ohm speakers Plus 2 16ohm speakers and one fender dev
well, as it were I have a lot of options... I have a 70's blue label 15" 16ohm, I could wire up two of the orig 8ohm in series and wire the three in parallel... as I understand the bulk of the load would be carried by the two 8ohm then... and they are 30watt so I don't see much of a prob there....

roger that. I couldn't go wrong with $25 for two brand new celestion g10s... guess I'll have to trade em off and get 'the right ones'.
thanks for the responses.

2 8ohm speakers Plus 2 16ohm speakers and one fender deville
hello all, hoping I can get a confirm/deny on a question... ok, so I have a hot rod deville 4x10. the manual has it able to run 8ohm or 4ohm. one of my voice coils is rubbing... so I bought two 16ohm replacements (got a deal) so, I figure I wire 1 * 16ohm + 1 * 8ohm in parallel and get 5.33333 ohm t...

Very positive experience at effects connection...
so rare these days that when something goes wrong a company steps up and bends over backwards to make things right... I recently ordered some stuff and based on some miscommunication had ended up getting a few 'wrong' parts. It was debatable at best whos fault that was (50% me 50% them), but the imp...

Re: Has anyone tried this L-Pad attenuator idea?
oh, I've got pedals on top of pedals... but they all sound better with the amp at about 3 while the pedal is boosting the front like crazy... and a boosted 3 on a 60watt 4x10 hot rod deville is likely to get the cops to my door sooner or later. I went to gc this weekend and fell in love with the bla...
