Re: Blackstone Appliances - MOSFET OD (2SV3.12) [ goop-alar [traced]

Built the vero last night. I killed lines 1, 10 & 31 (replaced them with direct connections to the various components).

I haven't boxed it up yet, but it sounds great so far! Very versatile. That "red" channel is capable of some awesome high gain sounds.

Thanks again for the layout!

Hey P_wats . i like you built the Jr version. I like it alot when i tamed down the gain trimpot, and dont want to mess with it anymore. I"m torn between building the Sr version. Will the Sr version sound that much better? Luckily a place in my city sells veros, although its 14 bucks 36x64, i g...

Ha. Crap. I got all excited to build that vero layout and even sorted out all the necessary components, but turns out I don't have a single piece of vero with enough rows (best I have is 30...). Looks like I jumped the gun again.

Wow! Great layout. I'll have to try that as soon as I've got some time. I built the single channel version and it sounds great, but this would be a lot more versatile. Thanks!

Re: Blackstone Appliances - MOSFET OD (2SV3.12) [ goop-alar [traced]

I soldered together the Jr. version from the vero layout a while back and, while it's too late to crank outside my headphone amp, this thing is pretty great sounding. I'm thinking of using it as a preamp for a Tiny Giant solid state amp, but might just have to build the Sr. version for fun too (Madb...

Hey guys, I'm dying to build one of these, but want to make sure I've got the right layout: the vero layout posted earlier is a single channel only, right? Is there a layout for the whole shebang? Or a PCB to be bought? Thanks!

Re: No more PCB's

I've done some really simple circuits this way (Bazz Fuss, Easy Drive). It's a lot of fun!

Re: First Amp Build! Princeton 5F2-A

Nice build. I was thinking of a champ at first, but settled on the 5F2-A (very similar circuit).

I've got another small PT, so I might try one anyway...

Re: First Amp Build! Princeton 5F2-A

I think the paint job looks great! i like the paint job on the cab :thumbsup i paint pedals like that too! Thanks guys. This is my first amp build, so I'm incredibly happy with it (sounds great). I paint pedals (and lots of other stuff) like this too, so it matches. yeah it's just personal preferen...

Re: First Amp Build! Princeton 5F2-A

neat little amp! i like that little chassis you used. too bad about the paint job on that cool old vintage cab though! Ha. Thanks--you don't like the paint, I take it? Don't worry, the cab wasn't in great shape--rips and stains all over it--so I stripped it off and went nuts with spray (I do ...

First Amp Build! Princeton 5F2-A

Hey guys, I just finished building my first amp and I'm very excited, so I figured I'd post pics (instead of just lurking like usual). It's basically a Princeton 5F2-A, but I used mostly recycled parts from old radios that my friend/amp guru had. The PT isn't as powerful as an actual Princeton (only...
