alright then, when i get home i will add a 10k after the diodes, which i will add after the cap. i'll reoprt my results, but it should be almost exactly like a dist+ into a microamp, correct?

gotcha! well i did build this up, wired it up, and BOOM! great sound. i always liked the flat mids setting on other people's units, and the jumper thing worked well for me, so thanks! only problem is my boost isn't working, but i think that may be a switch wiring mistake, off to debug land...

hmm, i had inferred from his post that the series resistance wasn't necessary if the diodes were to ground and came after the cap. is that not right? not questioning, just trying to learn

Okay, I'm a little confused. I was operating under the assumption (apparently a faulty one) that the cap generally comes after the diodes, so you guys are saying i either need to place some sort of resistance between the opamp and the diodes, or move the diodes to after the capacitor, correct? I'm d...

one more question for all of you. the switch that is connected on the same side as the mids switch, is that the boost or the bypass switch?

Where do I put clipping diodes in a circuit?

I'm building the 2 microamp board at tonepad, and i want to turn microamp 1 into a distortion by adding clipping diodes, then use #2 as a switchable boost on the output. i have a question about diode placement, though. here is the tonepad layout: http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=51 So, i just w...

right, i want it fixed in flat mids, but from the wiring layout t looks as though the flat mids is in the center "off" position, where no connection is made, so i'm thinking i won't need to jumper anything. am i just reading the layout wrong?

so i built the bass drive project from that wonderlust site, and i have a question about the mids switch. if i leave it out completely, it will be the flat mids setting correct? and to leave it out, since there is no connection for that setting, i just don't wire in the switch right?

im curious, not really off topic but it sounds like visual sounds is a huge corporation almost competing and caliber with boss. Maybe not as big, but it seems interesting I always thought of them as a smaller company. But everything is built overseas, and done well mind you, and they seem to be eve...

heh, i was reading this thread and was just about to jump in and defend visual sound's 1spot as the end-all (IMHO) of switchers, but R.G. beat me to it! it is an excellent and quiet supply, and had i not already had a nice regulated quiet supply for my needs, i would have purchased one already. can'...

i've been trying to get my bad horsie just right for about a year now. basically i want the range and sound of the crybaby (post mod, of course) but i like the horsie because of the auto-on optical switching. any ideas?
