Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

Hi Tuck
Okay R33 and R49 are the same then ?
Try measuring R33 with a multimeter and let us know what it reads ;-)
cheers

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

R33 sure looks like brown black black yellow brown - 1 0 0 0000 and 1% = 1M

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

Hi bmxguitarsbmx I agree - there are some strange design choices made with this pedal as well as some really good design choices - the individual decoupling filters on each jfet stage and the 100n ceramic caps on each of the dual op amp power rails are excellent design choices where as the 18v dc po...

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

just in case you were wondering - the led is a four pin device - pin 1 is red anode ( compression level indicator), pin 2 is common cathode, pin 3 is blue anode (when drive channel is disengaged) and pin 4 is the green anode (when drive is engaged)

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

Okay - i have drafted and checked the complete board now so this schematic (rev 1a) should be correct, however there are still some unknown resistors that need to be measured or guesstimated, they are: R33, R38, R39, and R49 - again i am assuming that Tuck has labelled all the other resistors with t...

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

bassbutler rev 1.7z Hello Tuck I am still working on this but so far this is the revised schematic for the complete clean channel - the drive channel looks ok at this point except for the footswitch connection ;-) Anyway here is the revised clean channel tone control and compression section - the D...

Re: Orange Bass Butler [schematic]

Well done Tuck - not too shabby for a newbie to tracing :-) However, sorry, but there are quite a few mistakes - the input Jfet buffer is fine but the circuitry around IC2a and IC2b is a calamity - the treble control and bass control are vice versa and the feed off to the compressor section does not...

Re: BAJA Orange OTR120 Graphic MkII amplifier pedal 9v 160318 [documentation]

there is no 9v connection to the transistors - the vero layout is a little confusing because the base leads are shown on top of the transistors instead of underneath them - but it does say to snip the collector leads off - if you study the schematic you will see that both transistors have there emit...

Re: POLL: What is your preferred PCB design software?

Any of you lovely folks using Sprint care to convert a few (2-4ish) ".lay" files to something...usable for me? Nothing against your preferred program, it just doesn't appear to use a file format that will play nice with any of what I have available (Eagle, KiCad, DIYLC) for opening the fi...

Re: Mike & Vlad: the Russian tube story

I never use his Russian tubes - inconsistent emission qualities in most of the 12AX7s I have tested - I have measured many brand new Russian tubes that have less than 10% emission - sadly the JJ Slovakian tubes are a little inconsistent too, BUT, no where near as bad as the Russian tubes - the Shugu...
