Re: Rockbox - Boiling Point [traced]
Hi everybody Here i attached the layout and the pcb of the Boiling Point it is BUILT AND VERIFIED. It works perfectly and sounds as it should . It fit is a small Eddystone enclosure. Have fun bye hot Hey, I used your layout and I found 2 mistakes, so I don't think yours is sounding as it should, si...

Re: Really Cheap Compressor [documentation]
Here's a sample, it starts clean and then goes up on both controls gradually. Volume pot goes up to compensate output level: Cheap Compressor Clean Sample Added a 220pF capacitor parallel to 220k resistor, changed the 22pf feedback cap to 10pF and input cap to 10n. This gave me the best clarity and ...

Re: Really Cheap Compressor [documentation]
Just solved it by using a 4k7 resistor to ground from the leds. Tried 2k2 and 10k, 4k7 is just perfect for high gain fat humbuckers. Zero crackle. What a cool compressor! I haven't tried it with LED/LDR combos, but I'm getting a really squashy compressor with the VTL5C3, not the "turn it off an...

Re: Really Cheap Compressor [documentation]
Hi, I have this on my breadboard and I'm really happy with its sound, so I think I'll change my actual Flatline for this one. I have a VTL5C3 in there with an ultrabright green led in anti-parallel and I'm getting some "crackling" at high sustain levels on the lower strings. In the Flatlin...

Re: Flatline Compressor Question
Okay, so the Pedal Fairy must have tweaked some things last night while I was asleep. As of today, no more distortion in the sounds. Pretty funny. I'm not crazy, it just went away. BUT, the hiss is still there. I must admit, I'm confused. Do I put the low pf cap across the LDR or on Pins 1 & 2 ...

Re: Flatline Compressor Question
Put that cap across pins 1 and 2 of the first opamp. For the distorted decay, just change the electro cap for a bigger value. For some LDR/Led combinations I've gone as far as 220uF for that cap. You can use a switch for this, as when you use the compressor for picking style instead of strumming you...

Re: Baja BBE Sonic Stomp [documentation]
Just made some samples: I've added the mid control on my build, using a 15k resistor and 50kb pot instead of the 39k resistor on Madbean's Bloviator. CLEAN Singled neck humbucker. DISTORTION SD Distortion Bridge -> Neverdrive (DLS clone pushed by Germanium boost) -> Sonic Stomp -> Presonus Audiobox ...

Re: Baja BBE Sonic Stomp [documentation]
i can do the electronics and make all my pedals work but stuffed if i can get boxes to look that good or even know where to get them. I have never been able to make the box look that good. If you have any secrets on how you do it please share. Here's the tutorial I wrote for DIYSB. And https://www....

Re: Baja BBE Sonic Stomp [documentation]
Sorry to revive this thread, I just want to thank Bajaman for the fantastic work put into this pedal. Thanks a lot, Sir! I've just finished my 1590A version shrinking Madbean's Bloviator layout. I had to put one resistor on the traces side, use a couple more jumpers and put the 10M input resistor in...

Re: Mad Professor Stone Grey Distortion [traced]
Just built this distortion using DimebuGG's PCB (thanks for that!). I've replaced the 2n2 input cap for a 820p and installed a "bass" or "fatness" control with a <500kA pot in series with a 10n cap> in parallel with that input cap. It works perfectly, a very useful control for me...

You know you can fix that by changing the wires between lugs 1 and 3 of the pot, right?ckyvick wrote:bias and decay are backward, not sure if thats my error or the layout

Re: Catalinbread Heliotrope [guts+ schematic + PCB layout] [traced]
Ok, I guess the schematic is fine and the guts aren't. I made mine according to this schematic and it works. It doesn't work with the values as in the guts pics. I'm still having the noise issues, but I think it's fine.. It's a strange effect, but I like it.

Re: Catalinbread Heliotrope [guts+ schematic + PCB layout] [traced]
Updated schematic with R9 value added and 741 fixed up. TropioHellV3.png Hey, thanks for this. Is that the correct value for R9? Isn't the value for the BIAS resistor for the LM741 a 47K and not a 1K as in the schem (both schems)? I'm saying it for what I see from the guts, maybe I'm missing someth...

Re: Demeter - Compulator [traced]
Hi, I've just build a Compulator and it sounds interesting, but I'm not really convinced, now I'm going for the Bajaman's Optical Limiter, I think that's a lot more interesting circuit and he did a big campaign for us to do that one, so thanks to him (for both layouts, schems and all the work behind...
