Re: RM - Voodoo Axe ( schematic ) [schematic]
You are right. I should have posted this when I traced it, not a month afterwards... So, what I indicated as the input buffer, is actually the output buffer driving the 2 outs in parallel. Compared to the Voodoo-1 schem, it is very similar to its output buffer, only 1 resistor is different (470k). T...

Roger Mayer - Voodoo Axe [schematic]
I traded it for a crappy chorus. It sounds pretty good and FF-like with a pronounced top end that doesn't get brittle, although it may not be everyone's cup of tea because of it. It sounds particularly nice with single coils into a 70s Marshall Superlead type amp. It is basically an Axis Fuzz with a...

Re: Taming the Peavey "Nasties"
What can I say? Your remarks are perfectly acceptable: this is just not the way they seem to see it at Peavey. Especially the molex connectors  . Nevertheless, I don't think you can compare Bogner, Soldano, Dr Z, etc.. to Peavey, sound-wise, quality-wise AND price-wise. And I have seen comparab...

Re: Taming the Peavey "Nasties"
I'm convinced that all Peavey cares about with those big amps is a super-loud power amp and super-saturated preamp distortion. Having been part of Peavey for some time, I can say that this is correct. However, the intention on their part is good (depending on how you look at it). The idea is to giv...

Re: 72-74 Bassman 10
In practice and in this particular case, the amp started to whistle when the first preamp volume control (now a gain control) was high. As Marshmellow explained, this was due to the original layout not being adapted to the new high gain nature of the new preamp configuration. And changing the whole ...

Re: 72-74 Bassman 10
I have tried all sorts of mods on mine. Putting the channels in series gives a usable sound but the amp becomes a bit mushy and definetly unstable due to all that gain. The PPI master volume is the best mod to get some crunch out of it. Then you can tweak the values of some of the coupling caps and ...

You can find the D180 and Bass 400 here:

They may not be 100% accurate but are a good start. Have fun.

Re: Boss - FZ-3 ( Fuzz ) [schematic]
I'd like to suggest a few simple mods I did on mine. Stock, they are almost as unusable as the FZ2 and can therefore be had for cheap. 1. R22 and R23 are actually 2.2k (not 22k as on Dirk's very helpful schematic), 2. As mentionned before, C9 can be removed 3. Remove R18 4. Remove the transistor whi...

Re: Elka Dizzy Tone [schematic]
Yep, it was made in Italy: it is written inside mine, which can be seen here (click on the Dizzy link or the "pedals" page on the left): http://nicosonic.free.fr/english/indexen.html ). As can be seen from the schem (thanks guys!), it is close to a JEN Coloursound ToneBender MkIII, except ...

Re: I gots some crappy peavey pedals...How do I make sound good?
The Distortion is a RAT clone. The compressor really lacks output which renders it unusable with humbuckers, but is pretty good sounding otherwise. The dual clock chorus (bright pink) actually sounds good (even though I hate chorus). The bass chorus is also very good with only the highs a(e)ffected....

Arion SPH1 phaser schematic
Hi,
I have this cheap Arion phaser pedal whoch doesn't sound too bad until you crank the resonance control. It clearly lacks headroom and I'd like to correct that. Anybody has a schemo?
