Re: DMM booster?

Notice the DMM input stage is an inverting opamp with 100k. Its impedance is a bit on the low side, so it may be something to consider. A higher Z stage may get a brighter sound which is not what your pal is used to.

If you want the DMM pre sound, look at Dirk's schematic :thumbsup

Re: my new delay, over the top PT2399's

Cool experimetnal sounds there, rasta_maleek The pcb was made to fit a custom box. It has a quite complex offboard wiring, so at this time i'd rather redo it for a double side with pcb mount pots to simplify. It's on my plans to do so, as long as i can get some time. At this time all the units I mad...

Re: my new delay, over the top PT2399's

Once that it has been made a first version, i find now a lot of things to redesign and improve.
I'm planning on doing two derivatives, the fancier one with modulation, and another with only the delay, to keep it simple for 3 knobs, keeping the voicing this one has..

that is totally amateur noobish electronics

you need termperature stabilization, you know, otherwise that would sound awfully off when playing under a 400ºC open venue at Venus, or at the underground clubs around your city, i mean 5000 feet underground

you can try to change values in one part of the circuit so both pots are matched

again, we can cover the technical details of this stuff in its own thread, as any other circuit, mod, improvement or whatever. there's no need to feed that troll if he doenst want to discuss properly. the point here is that the pedal was marketed with lies, and this forum was bullied with stupid leg...

Re: Sourcing parts for Echo Base in Europe/Denmark

Useful trick with the 7805 - the tab is connected to the centre pin (ground), so if you bend the whole regulator flat to the board, you can use the hole in the 7805 tab to screw the board to the case... ...and use the enclosure as a heat sink if needed but dont rely on it as the only support for th...

7805 are big, they go up to 1A but you donr need that much
try to get a 78L05, they are TO92 package (like a standard transistor)

I was thinking:
Change the fet to a pFET, (also reverse diode and cap) so envelope is positive above ground. then bias the FET gate to get it near its Vgs threshold.

Re: Deluxe Memory Baby

Dirk, could you expand a little bit on the relationship between the compander and DC output a bit more? My thoughts have always been "just run it at the highest voltage it will tolerate". How did you go about changing it in relation to the different biasing voltage? look at the datashhets...

Re: Soul Sonic - Crackle NOT Okay! [documentation]

i have 2N7000's that are noisy, and other are pretty quiet.
the same way i have found some BS170 to be noisy too

i think it depends on the manufactures, i had even different batches from Fairchild with very different noise levels (at least when used in this kind of circuits)

Re: DirtBag Delay ~ Deluxe Memory Man

Right now it isn't passing delay, but I hope to fix that up soon. did it finally work? i always thought that R45 and R48 (in your schem at page 1) were drawn wrong, around IC2B. That looks like a typical inverting mp, R45 should go to the opamp input, not before the other 100k. That stage should se...
