Re: Death by Audio - Echo Master (gut shots)
... Define wrong. That's the difficult one. If the device works, can one conclude the design is good? So, in general, the aim for a decent PCB design is to place all parts and connections in the most optimal way. After taking that into account this aim is immediately challenged by all other constra...

Re: Death by Audio - Echo Master (gut shots)
The thing that I see first is the wrong type of pot mounting, long legged pots shoved through the solder pads by about half an inch.

Re: Cleaning and revamping an old pedal
What's the worst thing that can happen if the new solder is mixed with the old solder, Plush? It'd get angry and splatter all over your face and stuff... In reality, mixing new and old solder sometimes makes new, crappy alloy, that might have quite different properties than the originals bef...

Re: Kingsley Page Gutshots [traced]
I appreciate your efforts. It is so hard to traced na pedals without full gutshots. I hope someone kind enough who has this pedal to share some more photos so we can trace this awesome pedal. Here is an idea, If it is a pedal you really need then maybe buy one, work out the schematic yourself and p...

Re: What companies do small pub runs
but your comment on cons is incorrect in my case. There are no markings on any of my orders, they only have what I put on the silks. Maybe you should take a closer look at yours. Their marking is mandatory since they automatically sort and check them. I've had a lot of pcbs from jlc and all had mar...

U4 is not regulator, it was just a diode.

Re: What companies do small pub runs
My personal favourite is JLCPCB. Pros: pretty nice quality Cons: they incorporate their ID into your pcb design as a silk screen and there is nothing you can do about it (except than hide it behind some component or place it on a piece, separated by vcut/milling from the rest of your design). I agr...

Erm, I told you in the above thread where to get the soft touch momentary switches. Can't help you with the routing as the pictures are not good enough.

Re: Harley Benton FXL8 Pro / Joyo PXL-Live Pedal Switcher Lo
One thing I should also mention is that when replacing momentary DPDT footswitches make sure you put them in the correct way to match the ones you take out as unlike latching switches which work either way around momentary ones will not.

Sure can, I use these switches a lot and they are available in the UK form rapid electronics. They are low force and momentary, they do have a click but very small compared to normal switches.

Re: my power amp ic of my amp always blowing
Have you checked the voltage at the actual pins of the TDA2040 chip instead of the voltage at the rectifier side. the circuit may have some voltage dropping resistors to get the +/- 28 V down a little to the max +/- 20v . It would help a lot if you said what the amp make and model is as a schematic ...

Re: Any JHS VCR Gutshots Out There? [traced]
The build doc on that site has a schematic (which I don't want to repost without permission). But does anyone know if the JHS really uses that FV1 chip?!?!?!?! That seems like something you'd find in a karaoke machine. https://www.profusionplc.com/parts/spn1001-fv1 The FV-1 chip is quite a powerful...

Thanks Ice-9 So it seems the "Pic tap tempo add on" would be probably the best way to attempt to do that Thank you so much for your input A pic code tap tempo would need to be a 0-3.3v control voltage for control of the tap timing unlike some tap tempo code which will output an LFO. It co...
