PedalPCB has a PCB for this. The circuit is just a Klon with a reduced gain stage.

Re: Inexpensive TubeScreamer-like pedals, but with mid control
The Ibanez JD-9 Jet Driver is a TS style overdrive with mid control.

Re: Lovepedal Vibe/Magicboy [traced]
I saw the vibe mods at GGG. I suppose you can do that for any Phase 45 PCB. The demo I heard of the vibe mod sounded pretty good!

Re: Blue Pilot, an integrated Blues Driver
Very coo design,l Dylan159 - would love to build this. I was wondering if a rail-to-rail op amp such as the TLC2262 would work better given that the BD-2 relies on op amp clipping. Also, would it be beneficial to run at 18V? I've experimented with discrete op amps in the past (made a tube screamer f...

Re: Mosky Plexi-m [schematic]
Very interesting finding. It makes me wonder how many pedals suffer from crossover distortion simply due to bad op amps. This would be hard to diagnose because the pedal still “works” and simply exhibits a mild fizz because of the op amp.

"What did you do about the node leading to the reverb driver in your simulation? Did you delete the 25 uf cap?"
I just removed it as it's just part of the reverb mix. Let us know if you breadboard the circuit!

Re: Aclam Guitars Windmiller/Grampian 636 preamp
One issue as mentioned previously is getting the -12V voltage. You could use an LT1054 charge pump for this and simply create a voltage inverter to go with a +12V wall wart power supply. There may also be a way to achieve this it with a normal +9V power supply. My LTSpice analysis seems to indicate ...

Thanks for the schematics! Here is a link for more info on Pete Townshend's Grampian reverb unit: https://www.thewho.net/whotabs/gear/guitar/grampianreverb.html From the photos, it looks like Pete plugged into the low signal (10 mV) Aux input (no need for the mic input part of the circuit). Looks li...

Re: SolidGold FX 76 Fuzz....questionable workmanship?
Overall, with the exception of the board-mounted jack design, the PCB seems well-made. I suppose if you were a DIY-er, you could desolder the jacks and replace them with jacks with wires attached to the board, thereby relieving the stress. By the way, based on the number of transistors and what look...

Re: SolidGold FX 76 Fuzz....questionable workmanship?
I would say that's a poor design. Using board-mounted jacks will always be problematic as plugging and unplugging cords will put mechanical stress on the attachment points. Flexing the circuit board like that will also likely lead to failure at some point. I would send the photos to the manufacturer...

Re: BAJA LA2A Style Optical Limiter [documentation]
Hi Serge75, Yes, just run the op amps at +/- 9V and use ground for Vref. For the jfet buffer, you can use +/- 9V as well, but I used an op amp buffer instead. My split supply comes from a LT1054 charge pump. Note that the 4.7k resistor in the Limit part of the circuit is connected to -9V and lug 1 o...

Re: BAJA LA2A Style Optical Limiter [documentation]
I built the LA-2A style limiter circuit recently on my breadboard and used the lcr-0202 opto coupler. The limiter works great as does the lcr-0202. I modified the circuit to use a split supply (+/- 9V) which didn't introduce any complications. I also used an op amp for the input buffer (didn't need ...

Re: Core Shaper Parametric Eq [documentation] [documentation]
Very cool pedal, dylan159. The EQ design reminds me of the tone controls on my solid-state Lab Series L5 amp, which also uses a mid control circuit followed by a Baxandall-like treble and bass control. The mid control on the L5 works very effectively for shaping the amp's distortion, which happens ...

"What more do you want to do to them? Supercharge them? " Actually - yes! But combine the clean branches into one as a non-inverting gain stage. But then, of course, it wouldn't be a Klon, but more of a slightly fancy Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive... "...haven't tried in depth separate gai...
