Re: D*A*M FZ-673 [traced]
Has anyone had any problems with this layout, or any secrets to it (especially regarding grounding?) I have built two of these now (using the same pots, but different jacks and switch), and both times there is only a bypass sound, but nothing for the fuzz... The only changes I've made are to use a ...

Re: 2N5133s with wildly varying hfes
I bought a bag of 100 2N5133 from a surplus shop a few years ago and they were what I would call "real" 70s 2N5133 while the Smallbear are more recently manufactured transistors made from a fairchild die lot I think. I had some from SBE and they didn't sound the same as the ones I got from...

Re: Skreddy - Mayo
"Real market value" is whatever someone is willing to pay, as we all know. I don't think anyone will pay $1100. I have seen quite a few boutique and vintage pedals in the past year relisted over and over again, with price drops each time. Some people have no idea what they can get so they...

Re: Skreddy - Mayo
That's what Marc said it was. He only ever made 25 as I recall, so they are very rare. This is the Mayonnaise MK II made within the last year. The last time I saw an original Mayonnaise go for sale it brought a little over $600, comparable to what a real Triangle brings. This price is a bit ...exce...

I still get a kick out all these "Hiwatt sound" in a box pedals. Do the guys designing really know what a Hiwatt sounds like or does everybody just base their Hiwatt sound opinion from Pete at Leeds (Which isn't a very good representation of the Hiwatt sound in my opinion)? :slap: Same. I...

Re: Oberheim VCF-200 pedal (sample & hold - filter)
The noise source is absolutely key in determining the frequency range and "randomness" of the filter. A really noisy 2n2222 for example tends to get locked on certain frequencies which gives the pedal a really unique electronica sound. Something more even gives the classic pulse. Buffering...

I had one a while back and it was a nice sounding pedal. One of those "last 5%" pedals in terms of getting a sound but it was nice with my esquire. Helped fatten things up a bit and let me tame treble too.

Any sort of three-band EQ would work. Just look for the least lossy design and tweak the cap and slope values to taste.

Re: Emma - PisdiYAUwot?
Take the Reeza schem and set the bias control fixed at max. That keeps everything tight and punchy. Then yank the tone stack and drop a Guvnor stack in its place. That would proably get you workably close. The Pisdi is really just a more aggressive version of the reeza to my ears and the addition of...

whats with all the spots for missing components? They can probably built a mighty red distortion on the same board among other BJFe circuits with similar architecture. Im LOLing at the construction. Here is a quote from Donner: "Yes there is a whole team on this. If it was just me I wouldn't e...

Re: Disconnecting the Ringtone [traced]
I think thats actually just a side benfit. The little blank board is in all the sequencer pedals to keep the floating PCB with the pots from moving around or shorting against the jacks and battery. It may function as a shield but the wire is probably there just as much to keep it from falling out an...

Re: Disconnecting the Ringtone [traced]
I believe the small PCB between the switches handles the audio mixing while all the modulation circuitry is on the main PCB with the pots, leds, and mode switch. Probably one of the more impressive builds on the market right now. Its like artwork in there.

Re: Screw on Stomp Switch Surrounds as on TC Electronics ped
Hope this is the right forum as it is my first time post. I am looking for the finishing surrounds that screw onto the stomp pedals like the TC electronics pedals have. I am not sure what they are called. I have a Nova Reverb Pedal that has them on, they make a nice finish. https://i954.photobucket...

Its not like that though. Its getting whisper levels at max volume through a loud amp. Ge diodes aren't that bad  Its just one of those mysterious cases where everything is wired perfectly and somehow this one little thing is causing a failure of some sort. Everything works fine with the diodes...

Re: Interfax - Harmonic Percolator [schematic]
Has anyone run into issues where the output level is extremely low with the diodes in the circuit? I built one of these up over the weekend with a switch to disconnect the ground connection for both diodes and when the connection is lifted I get great output but when the diodes are connected to grou...
