Re: Stupid Power Question (Positive Ground)

Thanks for the info! I have a few LT1054 (I think). I will give them a try. Why do you recommend against daisy-chaining all the positive ground pedals to a dedicated one spot? I thought yours worked great? Is it just that it has a big potential risk associated with it? Thanks! not so much that. It'...

Re: Stupid Power Question (Positive Ground)

I built a FF clone and an Octavia clone and housed them in one box. The circuits themselves require a positive ground. I had been using a MAX1044 to invert the power from my power source that is also connected to negative grounded pedals. But, I have now blown two MAX1044's. (Nothing noticeably blo...

Re: JHS Charlie Brown?

Ah, good call, I misspoke too. I glanced too quickly and didn't realize we were talking about two different pedals (Angry Charlie and Charlie Brown). To echo Coldcraft, I believe it has been deduced (but not verified but gutshot or schematic publicly that I know of) that the Charlie Brown is a BSIAB...

Yes, sorry, should have mentioned that. I tend to call people by real names once I've corresponded with them for a while.

@Duckman: yep, he just moved the trimpot to an external.

Brian, it definitely is one of yours. It's this one from the Crunch Box thread:

Re: JHS Charlie Brown?

the angry charlie is a crunch box, so this is probably some variation on that. And from what I've read, that's a Marshall Guv'nor with a single tone control. Not sure with the Charlie Brown - saw a gut shot in the video on PGS and didn't see an IC, but will have to look again. It's definitely a cru...

The only way this will sound any good is to use two of the transistors in a transistor array chip for the darlington pair.... and add thermal stabilization

Re: MAGNUS MODULUS - PROJECT - PT2399 ECHO/Chorus/Tremolo/Bo [documentation]

Just noticed something. It looks like the Delay Level control adjusts the delay level (duh), but the dry level stays constant and the pot simply adds in the desired amount of wet signal. In the schematic, If one were to tie lug 1 of the delay level pot to pin 5 of the output opamp (marked NE5532-1b ...

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm having trouble deciphering your labeling on the PCB. What is "out delay level / rpt" for example?

go to geofex.com and dig through there. There is an article on there about flip flop switching. But for what you are asking here, it's enough to know that the pedal you are using has jfets arranged to do switching instead of a big switch. the only thing that momentary switch does is trigger the elec...

You can see that he put glue in place to keep the pots from spinning if they loosen but if he wants to make it rugged why not just have a PCB with board-mounted pots. Accomplishes the same task much more quickly and consistently. or he could actually drill the holes for the mounting tabs that come ...
