Re: Rat voltage divider question
that voltage divider is meant to be a half-voltage reference rail, and is required. Powering with 18v, mid-rail is 9v, Powering with 9v, mid-rail is 4.5v... you get the pattern however, i dont think that the rat topology gets a lot of variation from supply voltage, since the clipping is done by diod...

Re: Multiclipper!
i think i reckon that "crossover short" thing. It's subtle but seemes like i could notice some different sound from a plain series diodes. Sometimes I like a strong asymetric clipping, i usually put 2 mosfet in series (in opposite orientation). This would have a quite high clip thershold (...

Re: EH - Electric Mistress Flanger [schematic]
would anyone happen to have schems/guts for eh5100 D? mine is 5100D https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6142 the schematic than is around the web is almost accurate, the only difference is some more caps on the board, all doing some filtering on power and the clock/LFO sections....

Re: Fulltone - ´70 pedal
I have been wanting a proper (accurate) '70 schematic for some time now. so its AFFF (another fuc...g fuzz face), in paper is very much like the usual FF, and in soun is as shitty as the rest. the underboard cap is 100pF, looks like a late addition due to unstability. Changing the emitter cap to an...

Re: KNOBS prices are hard to take
Have you tried these aluminium knobs from Futurlec: http://www.futurlec.com/Switches/KNOB3.shtml ? Just $0.70 a piece. i've used two variants of those, which differs only on the set screw: one is standard screw and other is hexagonal "hole" (a pita, i must say) they are quite rough, and n...

Re: Compression Sustainer
i dont know how it is supposed to behave, or maybe i got something wrong on the breadboard... with the diodes the compression is limited to the clipped amplitude at the output being big enough to push the FET. without diodes... the FET is so open that it squish and farts everything down. anyway, bee...

Re: a case against the j201?
so the J201 is useful for a lower current, lower voltage, higher gain than most of other FET. That's a good reason for the use it has found among us. That article is making a point, but its talking about buffers, which has another set of requeriments. I use the BF245 series, which i can buy locally,...

Re: my new delay, over the top PT2399's
the tradeoff for the filtering seems to be some phase alterations, i guess that causes the reverby sound, which is cool though What is the shortest possible delay time the usual for the PT, i ddont know exactly, but very short. Can the modulation sound more like the chorus/vibrato in a EHX Deluxe Me...

my new delay, over the top PT2399's
This is my attempt into a delay, a not so simple one. My aim is to squeeze the maximum delay times and clean repeats from the PT chips, and add some fancies that match my taste for delay, which is some modulation and other tricks in order to achieve a very atmospheic and lush sound. It provides up t...

Re: Design Philosophy - Fuzz Face
on some fuzz experimentations i found that a big cap may shift the bias which helps in getting the some of the "burst and splattered" tones typically (i think...) associated with Ge fuzzes, without the piercing tones of the Si. may it be the coupling cap from a pre-amp stage into the fuzz?...
