Having metal logo's/badges made, anyone have any experience?

I'm thinking about having small metal self stick nameplates made for my pedals, black print on aluminum, about 3/4" by 2". I found some places on the web that will do it for $1.50-$2 each. Anyone have any recommendations/experiences getting this kind of thing done? I'dlove to have them mad...

I have an early Moon Phaser that I like alot, build quality is not that high. I nosed in it once and I think it had all transistors, no IC's, but I'd have to doublecheck. Definitely good sounding.

That LM1458 looks much closer to the E chip - I have never heard an E pedal, but it would be very smoooooooth sounding with a LM1458 IMHO. bajaman I did some A/B tests as much as I could, it was hard to find two identical sounding E's to really compare. The LM1458 sounds a lot like the E chip as fa...

A friend of mine and myself were not quite getting the same sound ABing the real COT50 and the one we built using the schematics suplied so far. So he degooped it just for kicks and found two important details: 1) input cap is 47nF, not 4,7. 2) back to back diodes are Ge 1N60 not 4148, although the...

I googled it, yup! Cheap bum wine! Night Train Express 17.5% alc. by vol. Don't let the 0.5% less alcohol by volume fool you, the Night Train is all business when it pulls into the station. All aboard to nowhere - woo wooo! The night train runs only one route: sober to stupid with no roundtrip ticke...

Nice project, great name too. Isn't "Night Train" a cheap wine like "Mad Dog"?

Here is an Eternity chip compared to a JRC 4558. Mighty similar looking. I doubt the E chip is a 4558 but I'll bet it's made by JRC. Any chip experts wanna chime in? To add my 2 cents, I've spoken to PaulC on several occasions and he has always been SUPER nice and cool. Can't comment on the circuit as I don't know much about it. I've looked in the Tim/Timmy pedals, looks like a LOT of work for what he charges, I'd charge more. Pauls top notch in my book! Guiltys...

Finally built one of these, the 50KA MV didn't seem to work so well, kind of on or off with nothing inbetween. Anyone else have this problem? 100KA was better but I have to mess w/it some more.

Unfortunately this conversation is moving in a bad direction. Perhaps we could bring it back around to tone and circuit discussion. bigPIMP, could you share some of your design philosophy as you have changed versions in the Eternity? What was the evolution of the design? How do you feel about input...

Thanks Pimpster! I have big clumsy hands but can grab smaller wire. I draw the line at pickup/inductor wire tho!

I have about 6 TB pedals in series on my board. I've been thinking about measuring the capacitance and resistance of the chain when off. This should tell me something, not sure what though. I'm sure there's some capacitance, I guess I'll know how much high end I'm losing.

Pretty sure the 150n is correct as a Son of Screamer has a .22 in that position. I think a 150pf would be way too small-

My experience is, that any protection diode(s) produce a thin sound with more treble. If I drop the diode the sound becomes much fatter and rounder. I noticed it first on some fuzz circuits, powered by a battery. Maybe the current is decreased by diode too. Some furthermore tests with IC-circuits p...

The schem was drawn by me, not Invictus. It shows the "Roadhouse" version. Diodes are 4x 1N914/4148 and not a Si/Ge mix. No protection diode in the bias divider, it thins out the tone and the sound becomes harsh on higher frequencies with this diode. Input bias R is 1M nor 470k. JHS JHS, ...
