Re: Ring Modulator Schematics

I figured you should be able to build the same thing with half of a 13600. Then you can use the remaining half to build the oscillator, so you can control it with an expression pedal  Same with the NE5517 with better specs. But you can also build a complete ring mod with the AD633 (however I ...

Re: Silva mica capacitors

They are also very good for some crucial applications where temperature stability is required. I'm thinking about V/Oct tracking in a VCO circuit or stuff like that.

Re: EMS HiFli 1971 [schematic]

I think I just had some luck to find it  Yes the ring mod seems the same style as the Green Ringer... But the Lovetone is very special, I like it a lot, but I often prefer the EHX or the Oberheim/Maestro which are more synth sounding to my ears. I agree the Tau Pipe version from Jürgen Haible ...

Indeed a huge and wonderful work of cloning... we don't see that very often.

Re: EMS HiFli 1971 [schematic]

yup £2000 for a clone... but seems to be a very looooong delay in production.
But there are some good audio samples there.

My pleasure

Have you seen page 16... is it the phaser with all these diodes?

EMS HiFli 1971 [schematic]

Hi

I have not seen anything relevant of this "pedal" here... so after some researches I've found some good stuff:

Enjoy!

Re: 8 output 9V psu (yes another one)

You're right about the ground loops... but for the moment I've not experienced this problem with my friend's rig (3 tube amps, tons of pedals and tube tape recorder played at the same time). However I think filtering is enough to have a clean DC signal with no 50Hz remaining in any configuration. Yo...

Re: 8 output 9V psu (yes another one)

Usually LM317T will be cleaner than the 7809. That means voltage regulation will be also more precise and noise reduced, its overall performances are slighty better than the 7809. The LM is also a bit cheaper even if it implies the use of a trimmer or two resistors to set up the V out. That's why I ...

Re: 8 output 9V psu (yes another one)

Wow I've seen I've told something wrong: you should read "18VAC" and not "2x18VAC". Also it will work best with a 12VAC input as it will minimize heat of the LM317Ts... :slap: I'm sorry if it's not "plug & play", that's my first pcb post attempt here. Also I will pr...

8 output 9V psu (yes another one)

Hi I've been working on a 8 output 9V psu for a friend recently. It is powered from a single 2x18V 40VA choke and using LM317T regulators. The schematic is inspired from Ken Stone's CGS66 bipolar psu with slight modifications (and I've swapped the negative rail of course). It uses fixed resistors to...

Re: RMC - RMC3 Wah (Geoffrey Teese)

I agree with you Gila. I've bought the standard Crybaby used and really cheap, then thrashed the pcb exept the inductor (also kept the hotpotz)... then I've build a modded Axis Wah with the FuzzCentral schematic (6 way switch for capacitors, Q pot).. and this sound really awesome for only 30€ and 2 ...

Re: [MOD] Bare bones version (no charge pump)?

Hello is there a pcb for this version without charge pump? I would really prefer to build this one: I hate the charge pump systems cause I've experienced lots of problems with these in other builds which are 10Vpp audio output ( traditional hiss and hum). I think it's not a clean psu and reminds me ...

Re: Behringer VM1 Vintage Time Machine

Thanks Dirk well, I see what you mean: that's U2B on my DMM schemo... I could try a TLO71 here, but I don't know how to implement it on the VM1 board... I will try to remove the two BBDs before that, inorder to put sockets for them on the pcb (that will help me a lot with the procedure you've descri...

Re: Behringer VM1 Vintage Time Machine

Hi,

so I've ended with a 1N914 instead of the 4148 as D3.
This gives me more depth with the modulation.

I still strike to get rid of the extreme distortion...
Any advice?

Re: Behringer VM1 Vintage Time Machine

Hello I've just bought a VM1, it is so cheap so I couldn't resist... First I must say the sound is awful, really dirty, not what I expected from this pedal. I use a lot the Ibanez AD190 which sounds a lot clearer and cleaner than the VM1... and I expected a bit more definition and a lot less distort...
