Does anyone have voltages to compare for the two circulating versions, the Collins and the original/Mr Bill's?

Can anyone think of a reason why a 50k/47k linear pot could not go in for the balance control on this thing? I am out and my local stockist is out and I want to knock this up. Stupid newb question, I know, sorry.

A quick question about the correct schematic posted 6 posts above (the pink one).
Is that a junction after the first 20uF capacitor? Or does the signal from 470k to 2k2 not connect to the signal from the 20uF?

Scratch that... it's not the switch, it seems to be the reverb itself that is causing the distortion. Same thing happens on channel 2, although it is not as pronounced as on the VS channel 1. As i said, I've replaced the 741s on the reverb board so not sure what could be causing the noise, everythin...

Finally got round to opening up my VS. I was cautious, so before starting to dismantle the tone module I just replaced the 741s on the Channel 2 board and the 741s on the reverb board (I used NE5534AP) and put it back together to see if that would fix it... it did!
