Re: Telenordia - TA-100 [traced]

There's another one for sale, too rich for my blood, but I'm trying to see if I can get a trace side photo. http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... Telenordia

Re: Completely asinine question. (Re: Battery Clips)

The way I've been doing it lately is drilling a hole in the back of the enclosure, then threading it with a tap and die kit so I can screw the clip right to the back. Just have to file off the screw so it's flush to the back. A 4-40 screw usually has a small enough head to still get the battery in.

Really, eh. I've never heard of that, but it makes sense to avoid positive feedback.

Re: Amp shielding

I use Merlin's grounding scheme religiously. The most important wires are the ones attached to the grids of the preamp tubes, so anything from pins 2 or 7 of a 12ax7 to the coupling capacitor are the most vulnerable. I do the grid wires of the power tubes too if they're going to be long. Most times ...

Good catch sugarinthegourd, you're right, it's oriented the other way on the original, which is long gone but I took good pics, so I could confirm stuff like this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/35422385@N ... 139715275/

And downtown at college and spadina there's creatron, and the home hardware that got all the stuff that used to be at honson. If you go to the sayal on Matheson, there's a place next door called AA electronics that's got some randomly organized bits and bobs too.

Re: Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer [traced]

5484's are in the original, I used 5485's on the breadboard so I must have put that on the schematic. I think they're almost the same anyways.

Re: Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer [traced]

Hello and thank you KindaFuzzy for your work! On the schematic that you provide, both outputs of the TL072 (pins 1 and 7) go to "LED", but I can't see any LED in the schematic. May I suppose that is the bypass LED, which is a pulsating one? Best regards! Oh, yeah they go to either one of ...

I used one that was around 40 and it worked great after tweaking the resistors like rg keen describes in the Austin treble blaster.

Re: Ez81 in 5E3 build

You won't hurt anything by not putting resistors there, but I'd rather do it properly if it's a new build. I'll have to read my valve wizard books when I get home after the holidays, but from what I remember reading, you have to measure the resistance of the B+ winding, then subtract that from the m...

Should be totally cool, I did a bassman with 6v6s from a recycled chassis with a 6ca4 before and it was great.

Re: Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer [traced]

Got the circuit working on the breadboard and sounding identical to the original, so schematic verified. Things learned: 1. This thing eats batteries, and if the voltage sags just a little, the 2206 stops oscillating or acts weird. 2. The 270p input cap makes a big difference, a 330p sounds terrible...

It was working when I first got the pedal and was testing it with a battery only, I'll double check the voltages when I get the jacks soldered back in.

Re: Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer [traced]

Here's a little update, I started tracing it, but it was such a confusing layout that I decided to do a component trace first. Green is topside, purple is underneath. Looks like the raw DC from the battery or jack goes straight to the FETs, but has to get through the regulator to go to the two ICs. ...
