Re: Univox - Superfuzz [schematic]
What a great thread with some fantastic builds earlier on. I've built a few of the Leeds fuzz's and they are all awesome and over the top. The only thing I'd like changed is to replace the tone switch with a tone pot. I saw one build on pg. 5 that looked like they did it, but no info/values posted. ...

Awesome layout Jimmy!
I learned so much just from this thread, falling into a fuzzz fever...
I've also been wanting to build a sili tonebender like the one on Basic Audios site for awhile now.

Re: Black Arts Toneworks - Pharaoh [traced]
Hmm it appears this is a Rams head variant, looks almost exact to the "47" Rams head someone suggested earlier. I'll have to give the hi/lo input switch a try on one of my muffs and definitely a pot! It's really great how many modifications can be made to this circuit. I've been modifying ...

Nice layout MB! I have an etched rebote on my desk, I'm excited to compare the two and see how much better this one sounds with mods.

These all look great! Thanks for sharing your layout. When you said to breadboard the transistors first, what's the purpose of doing that? Does it have something to do with adjusting the collector resistors if needed?

Thanks peps for all these clean layouts! I wouldn't mind giving the blue box a go and verifying it. Do you have a diagram/parts layout with the values I can use?peps1 wrote:Original MXR Blue Box (script version) - Unverified

Re: First Vero Layout Fuzzzzzz
Built it today and it is verified!!! Very versatile fuzz, there is soo many differnt sounds to be had with all the different knobs. The tone knob's bass side could use some adjusting but besides that everything works well. I'll repost it in the RTB section with a nice description of the knobs!

Re: toecutter vs. four horsemen doom stack. 4h cleanup clip.
Hell yea!! EW is such an awesome band! Its funny he was using a Crate full stack during the time of Dopethrone. Talk about tone. The other trick to doom metal of course is using a les paul!!! :) Here's a silicon fuzz face I did recently and it totally nails that sound in drop tuning. I too need prop...

Re: New member and "stupid" question about Fuzz Face trannie
Yes that is what it needed!!! I'm so excited. I've been playing it for at least half an hour now! I was getting oscillation at any guitar knob volume level but now its gone completely! I've only been able to try 2N3904's and 2N5088's. They both sound so good but I have a few more options a...

Re: New member and "stupid" question about Fuzz Face trannie
Just finished my first fuzz face build(dragonfly's silicon version). This thing is quite a monster. It sounds incredible especially when my guitar volume knob is maxed! I'm having some strange problems with noise though. I get a scratchy/hissy noise that I can really seem to get to go away unless I ...

Re: Catalinbread - Formula No. 5 [traced]
Yea I'm not sure about those 2N584. Never heard of those before and I did a quick search without any real results. The closest I found was 2N5840 but I feel like that might be a whole nother transistor altogether. Anyways whatever you have here is what the build doc ask for. And cheap!!! http://www....

Re: Catalinbread - Formula No. 5 [traced]
Hey shiner man. I just read up through your troubleshooting. You said you have 2n4548's in your build and the build doc says 2n4547's. I believe those two are different and 2n4548's and J201 transistors are the similar interchangable ones. Try grabbing some of those and see if it fixes your problem....

Re: Group buy of EH Bad Stone Phase Shift boards
Got them the other day. Super fast shipping coming from the other side of the US! Boards look great can't wait to get the parts and get one going. I do plan to add the LPB-1 parts. I've built about 3 or 4 LPB's and I really like them. Huge clean boost and in front of a fuzz it turns into forever sus...
