Re: Freekish Blues- Alpha Drive
It's the one that says "C7" next to it ... I don't see the difficulty with this. Apparently you can identify "C5", what makes "C7" any different in that regard?

It's the output capacitor.Skreddy wrote:The only thing I'm not seeing in this thread, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, is a schematic with the Joyo part names. I'm not exactly sure what the Joyo C7 (the one replaced part) is in the OCD schem...

Re: Freekish Blues Betty Boost Guts
What? Not really. Much closer is the Freq Boost. Based on this shot, I'd say the Betty Boost is very probably a Boosta Grande.

Looks the same to me. Hilarious, he broke a trace scratching out the silkscreen and so had to replace it with a jumper.

Thanks, though I do understand the why of it -- the question was posed for rhetorical effect. I was pushing that he seek a real clarification.

Good build. What's the GE diode doing, I don't notice one in your schematic? Low-drop polarity protection?

Re: Bearfoot Model H [traced]
There is a photograph on Flickr of a BJFE Model H that basically looks like the Stone Grey. Must be two BJFE versions, as the one in the photograph doesn't seem to have a trimmer. Makes sense. Would be pretty pointless to release the Bearfoot and the Mad Professor otherwise. Single PCB for three Bea...

Re: Freekish Blues- Alpha Drive
Just look at the PCB, notice that the components are labelled? The one that says "C7" next to it is the one to change. You can see it right in the photograph, to the right of the op-amp.

Read the post directly following that one:

Re: Bearfoot Model H [traced]
J1 and J2 are, basically, the same configuration found in the Model H. J3 and J4 are the other method I mentioned, the JFETs are configured as current sources (regulators, limiters, what have you).

Re: Bearfoot Model H [traced]
I did check the pin arrangement, would be foolish not to. Anyway, seems like a diode to me. Gate being the anode, drain/source being the cathode. To quote Wikipedia, "The gate(G) (control) terminal has doping opposite to that of the channel, which surrounds it, so that there is a P-N junction a...
