Catalinbread - WIIO [guts]

Haven't been here in a while and a search didn't turn anything up. I don't really know the story other than it's supposed to be a cranked Hiwatt ala Townshend and only 100 were made. Seems kinda cool

Re: 4ms Nocto Loco [traced]

Yeah, they give you the scheme. I have built the Tremulus Lune kit and really like it. I had some issues (turned out to be a dead JRC4558) and Dann was really helpful. So here's my :thumbsup for the 4ms guys :thumbsup

Re: Skreddy Lunar Module [traced]

This may be a stupid question, but what is meant by "high gain" for the BC109? I have a few 109s here and just got a multimeter w/ hfe function so what should range should I hope for? the BC109C.... i think it's 400-500 Thanks, man. I'll have to see which 109s I have. Sorta OT, but I buil...

Re: Way Huge - Aqua-Puss [traced]

1. Awesome! 2. Is that one of those Road Rage boxes? How was the fit? 3. Gut shot? 4. How'd you do those labels? 5. Awesome!! My AP #2: http://pws.cablespeed.com/danielzink/musical/octa/octa2.jpg Sounds as glorius as the first one. This build was with the 3005 from SmallBear - no issues at all. Dan

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

Not sure if y'all have seen this, but a guy at HC posted this clip of a bunch of dirts (OCD, DLS, Tim, Screwdriver, etc) and the Barbershop. It's pretty cool how the Barbershop adds some sparkle to each of them. It's been a while since I've read this thread, so hopefully the scheme's accurate, b/c m...

Re: Catalinbread - Dirty Little Secret [traced]

Ok, one last thing before I go to bed... In looking at the Vero, C3 (anode) connects to the Pole of Sw1 and C4 to Sw1a. In your scheme, it's the other way around - the 4.7uf (C4) is on the pole of Sw1. Is that correct? I'm too tired to swap those now, so I'll try it tomorrow if this may be what's ca...

Re: Catalinbread - Dirty Little Secret [traced]

The NP should be just fine. I prefer the sound of polarized in the signal path. Might just be mojo bullshit. As Nic suggested earlier, a 100pf mod cap sounds great too. Just a hint more gain and a wee bit smoother attack. Nope should work great. Thanks guys. Is the same true for the .22uf for C3? I...

I only have NP 2.2uf electrolytics :x I'm gonna go ahead and put one in for C11, but wanted to know if it's gonna really affect things. Thanks

Re: Dr. Scientist Reverberator

This was my vote for the next Tracer's Fund so I'm definitely interested in this bad boy - the clips of this are amazing! But definitely too much $$ for me right now. I hear the guy is awesome to deal with. I'd love to have one of these on my board.

Re: Skreddy Lunar Module [traced]

This looks like a damn fine layout! You evidently managed to squeeze 5 16mm pots onto a 1590B-sized layout? I may want to adapt/redraw it some time, with your kind permiso and of course idea-credit and anything else deemed appropriate. At the moment, I'm using a BB for the 5-knob version. Looks lik...

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

Has anyone put this on a bread board or anything yet? A few guys over at HC got the pedal and absolutely raved about it. The demos seem OK to me, but now that I've heard the reviews, I think this may be right up my alley... I'm all about the subtlez!

Re: Catalinbread - Dirty Little Secret [traced]

I lost pad 2 on the gain and had to jump it. The pot had a 47p cap across 2&3 and it snaged the pad on the way out. I'm sure C-bread will warranty that for me :slap: Ack wat'd you do that for buddy? I probably won't cover the warranty but if you need a hand getting it back together feel free to...

Re: Way Huge - Aqua-Puss [traced]

Man, I just got a 1790S from Small bear and it's a little bigger than I want it. So add another dude going the Road Rage route. Is that one the "Large" box? And does anyone want to share a drill template? It's not a biggie - I don't actually have the board mount-type pots, but I could prob...

Re: Catalinbread - Dirty Little Secret [traced]

Nic has suggested a mod on his site to add to the treble bleed cap value another 5000pf, slightly more gain and bigger sounding to my ears: http://www.catalinbread.com/odds/bunker.html very cool! I'm getting ready to put this together in the next week or so. I wonder if it's worth putting a switch ...

Re: Catalinbread - Chili Picoso / Orman MOSFET boost

is there an available schematic for this? do a search for the Orman Mosfet boost and figure it out from there. Also, go over to DIYstompboxes.com and do a search. I just posted over there about wiring up a switch for the input caps. I can't get on that site right now, so just do a search for posts ...

Cool layout and build Mike! Ya know, I gotta get me some of that Vero board. Seems like a good way to do a build.

I got a bunch of This kind Just be careful, because I accidentally ordered one value This One where the adjustment screw is on the side instead of on the top. That's gonna be fun to adust on the board :slap: Gonna have to do those adjustments before mounting to the enclosure. I haven't started this ...
