Edit: in the drawn PCB view the polarity of the unidentified protection diode was upside down, now it is corrected.
I replace it with a 1N4001 diode
I bought this defective Amiko NSG-2 noise gate pedal, it is identical in design to the PSK NSG-2 pedal.
Since I could not find a schematic, I drew it out by tracing the circuit board.
This pedal is a BOSS NF-1 noise gate clone.
Differences are:
External power supply through a DC adapter instead of a DC adapter.
C=47n instead of C=100n and R=470k...

I'm experimenting with the EHX Small clone, but don't really understand why they put the transistor at the start of the circuit, why not just have a bit of filtering instead of the extra stuff.

Just curious.

I should add, I'm using two LM13700 OTA Ics instead of multiple CA3094s.

Hi!

My Zonk Machine started oscillating/squealing and producing static noise when attacking the strings. I didn't use the pedal for a while and wanted to put it on my board again.

The squealing is even heard when the pedal is off. The battery is new and works fine in other Tone Bender style pedals.

I made a short video of the issue:

Any ideas what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

I quite liked the stock sound on this one. I am using it more than my TS9 lately...
Should not be too hard to convert into a better thing though. PCB looks neat, no brittle feel or artifacts.

Mod ideas are more than welcome :)

Hadn't gotten around to post this one yet.
Another cheapo, yet not awful-sounding one.
The circuit does not seem to stray too far from your standard OD. It has a fairly flat freq response but a limited drive range.
I'll get around to modding it at some point, but the bastard crapped on me shortly after reassembling it and I couldn't be bothered to reopen it.

Trace double-but-not-triple-checked. Pinch of salt, etc.

I’ve been dinking around on a fuzz face on a breadboard for a few days now. I’ve got it pretty dialed as to how I want it at this point. Anybody have the schematic for the Yamaha DSC-20M chorus pedal? Pedal works under battery, but plugging adapter in kills all life; D2 diode also does not look original.
