Don't post in this forum asking is there is a schematic or layout or info on XXX pedal.
There is a subforum setup for requests already. It is located here:
REQUESTS FORUM
Any requests posted here will be moved to proper sub forum, and I'll also make nasty remarks about your mother.
also, if you have a problem with your build, post it in the WORKBENCH. these threads are for circuit analysis only. by all means, if you discover something we should...
Hadn't gotten around to post this one yet.
Another cheapo, yet not awful-sounding one.
The circuit does not seem to stray too far from your standard OD. It has a fairly flat freq response but a limited drive range.
I'll get around to modding it at some point, but the bastard crapped on me shortly after reassembling it and I couldn't be bothered to reopen it.
Trace double-but-not-triple-checked. Pinch of salt, etc.
We still need to clean up drawing and verify stuff and we don't have means to measure caps atm, but long story short the blow torch is an OPA boosted Si NPN fuzz face (q9/10) with some modded values running at 18V. Torch button sets pre boost gain and there's a weird looking double transistor buffer (q7/8) between OPA and FF that we don't quite understand yet, maybe we missed smth or got it wrong? There's also a 2nd order passive filter after the FF/before the active EQ which...
I traced my Exar OD-02 OverDrive from series 2. Initially, I hoped that it will have the same circuit as OD-1, because most of the Exar series 1 and 2 pedals share the same PCBs, but it wasn't the case.

PCB is single-sided and was easy to see all the tracks on a light. My unit seems to be produced in 1996 or later according to the date code on the gain potentiometer.

It appeared that it is definitely not a TS variation, but a...
Hi,
I disassembled a Rocktron Surf Tremolo with the problem that you can see in the video:
The problem hapens even in bypass, it was just a kind of amplified when the compressor is on.
It was not an easy pedal to disassemble, and the board its heavy populated mainly SMD components....I will need some help, and if anyone have the schematic...
Hi everyone, I'm very new here, in fact first post. I wasn't quite sure how to start a new topic so I'll start here.
OK, I have managed to pick up a YAMAHA SB200 Effects box. It's had a bit of mangling along the way but I hope to restore it to near original condition.
I've kinda trawled all over the internet for the cct/wiring diagrams but no luck except for some photos etc, and of course, this thread.
It's not the individual pedal schematics I'm after - that will happen later, but the...
Despite having been around for some years, there's still an aura of mystery around waza craft BOSS pedals. What do they have in common, what is the waza factor? What do the custom modes even do?
There's some info thrown around about CCS-loaded buffers, which are nice even if unnecessary for guitar, and they're still just buffers. Is that it?
That said, I have the luck of having a friend who owns the DS-1W and who let me borrow it for tracing without begging too much. Thanks to him, and my hard...
I recently received a broken Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive V2.
Since no actual schematic seems to be available I have tried to create one using Kicad.
Most capacitors are smd, were removed and measured with RLC meter.
The Cool Cat Fuzz V2 input buffer seems similar.
The FET clipping is not yet drawn properly, suggestions welcome.

First time poster here, just wanted to share my findings from tracing the new Orange Amps Vintage Reissue Distortion pedal.
Orange Vintage Reissue Distortion.png
Right off the bat, the actual distortion circuit here is very similar to ye olde Wampler Plexi Drive, but with a few tweaks. The tonestack circuit here is lifted from a Marshall amp (weird, considering this is an Orange Amps design) & there's a pretty neat buffered bypass switching system going on. Interesting to...
First optical compressor I've used and a nice change from DynaComp type I've only previously experienced. Also first attempt at publishing a full circuit trace; hopefully it's right.
Hi Guys,
I have a Cool Cat Fuzz that someone messed with the tone Pot.
I was looking for the schematics to check the original values of the pots on this pedal, but can't find any...
I already looked for gutshots, but seems like there's a variety of different guts...
Supposedly an Si Fuzz Face with a switchable buffer (not a bypass buffer, but a buffer make it not oscillate when using it with a wah), but it looks like there's a LOT more going on in there:
I count 7 transistors
It looks like there are some diodes and tant caps in there.
Hey, I need to synchronize my looper to perform a couple of our band's songs live but all production solutions are too exprensive and give me too many options I don't need (currently). We don't use computers or synths I only need to sync drummer's metronome and my looper. We tried with the drummer having me on headphones but my loops often don't have pronounced rhythm and I easily overwhelm them (and I could get very noisy  ).
First idea is to send click from looper's rhythm machine to...
Just got my VH4 pedal today. Pretty cool idea getting that CH3 VH4 tone from a pedal. Definitely a lot of chunk to say its solid state.
I use it in a preamp config blended with a boogie Tri-axis with custom 5 band eq i built into a boogie 2:90 power amp so vh4 is coming out
of one side of my cab and TA out of the other so its blended in stereo etc....
Not sure if its worth what it is from thomann. Yeah the sound is cool and works well to the power amp but the build quality isn't really there...
Recently got a commission to convert this EQ to 1/4 jacks, new power supply caps and NE5532 upgrade to make it less noisy. I took a bunch of photos to post here for tracing if someone wants to have a go. I have one of these of my own too if I need to check any part values. Hallo everyone,
Here Gebrey
Im an expert of diy and electronic diy and Ive succesfully made more than 30 effects and some amps.
Whats going on with SHO??
Maybe my chinese supplier gave me fake BS170? Maybe almost all SHO schemes are wrong?
The problem is... volume. It seems that voltage supplied is too less even at 15V.
I barely hear something ONLY if I push 2 Tubescreamer is series into SHO (forced FET by large input voltage signal)
Ive made 5 times this circuit and every time this...
I recently bought a Snarling Dogs Whine-O Wah and it's absolutely amazing. It's the best sounding Wah I ever tried.
But it's really really noisy!
So I replaced all the resistors (with metal film) and the caps with better ones, but no appreciable result.
Next step is to eliminate the extremly loud (probably LED caused) pop-noise.
I love this wah, but I also hate it. It's soooo noisy!!
Does somebody has ideas for troubleshooting or a solution :D ??
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you the long awaited reverse of what some consider as the best chorus ever made.
It's taken from an original 80's version. I can't tel if the actually made SCF is the same or if there are revisions of the old one
BUT some will have to work a little on it : it was already a hellish work for me to put all that on tracing paper (and did some retouching with graphic editor) and lets say I'm not in the mood to finish all that in any CAD especially considering...
I saw some speculation that the Caline White Heat was a DOD Overdrive Preamp 250, so I found a schematic and compared it to the circuit board, but it I see no potential for it to be a DOD 250, most especially because there is only one diode on the entire circuit board. All of the schematics I've looked at to date involved at least two diodes for clipping, and another one or two in the power supply section. In this pedal it looks like the one and only diode is in power supply section. I'm hoping...
Hi, gang!
For this post, I present a mystery! I have a fully populated FX PCB w/ connected pots that I would like to identify. The only marking is JCW (or perhaps JCW II), and 1983. As you can see in the pictures, the board features a couple NE5532 dual op-amps. I think the two nice sealed pots (both 10K-S, 1/8 shaft) might be original, but the two dual 100K pots probably aren't. I seem to remember Radio-Shack selling that exact same dual 100K (41-step detent, 40% tap). Let me know what you...
