And not to forget, A big thanks to forummite SWT who provided the basic photo's on which I reversed most of the thing. No need for that last data SWT. I've got my own now :horsey:. you can relax
Long time lurker, first time poster. Guess i never had anything interesting to post. Well here goes. I just picked up one of these at a pawn shop, dirt cheap. So when i got it home and checked it was an original Bud box!! From 1974!! :) If there are any other shots you need let me know.
This was my first pedal, it's a moderate gain distortion.
Neither on the metal housing nor inside on the PCB there is a logo, a script or a hint about who is the maker of this box.
Unfortunately it was also my first attempt to customize a pedal so there are two extra diodes for what seemed a cool octave-fuzz effect,
and some pots, the DC in, the battery holder and the on/off led went away.
I also did a research on google but seems that almost nobody knows or have ever seen this pedal.
This is informational only but is a dude on ebay selling a yellow 250 with pics and this description:
here we have a crazy rare TRANSITIONAL DOD OD 250 OVERDRIVE PREAMP, this is one of the first YELLOW version made late 1979 that still retains the GREY CIRCUITRY with the 741 chip and horizontal lay out!!! KI-LLER sounding one. serial 2502568, chip UA741CF dated 1979 (009).
I thought the first yellow 250 overdrives didn't appear until 1981 so this is strange? I have pictures from a 1980 gray...
With remarks
a) Some component values are between brackets. This is because I have 2 AD-9's and these components are different. The bracketed values are for the older of the 2.
b) When using the component values of the newer of the 2 (so the non bracketed ones) this delay is only in minor and most likely non-sound affecting ways different from the Ibanez ADL and the CD-10 Delay champ. Interesting since the AD-9 is so much more popular. More annoying for me...
I was in Guitar Center over the weekend and saw they had something called the MXR Classic Overdrive. It was a GC only special for 29.99 like they did with the Classic Distortion previously. I bought one. I called MXR and asked if the Classic Overdrive is based on an already issued model like the Classic Distortion was based on the Distortion iii. The tech guy said it's the same as the M193 GT-OD pedal. I won't comment on how this pedal sounds because i'm a newbie and don't know how to...
Hi guys...
some years ago I've bought the AEQ-1 in a second hand shop for 2 euros, but the pedal doesn't work... :slap:
I've changed the electrolytics and opamp but the pedal is still mute and the LED is always off...
I'm beginning to build MXR dist+ pedal. I've seen many types of diodes and parts used but is there such a thing as
original dist+ model?
I'm specially intrested to build the same kind of pedal Dave Murray from Iron Maiden uses. Maybe somebody can help and tell which kind of parts were used at the time?
I'm trying to trace this one out. I want to see how it compares to a Rat and what mods I can do to improve the tone. In the pic of the big board there are some light green and blue parts that look like resistors but it seems like some should be caps. Can anyone identify these for me? Thanks!
I tried to draw the schematic, seems to be a varation of classic inductor wah (crybaby/vox) with some change (cap values, resistor). The sound is deeper and softer than other pedal.the range is also bigger compared to other wah pedals (a little bit like the colorsound's pedal I guess). The center frequency is lower (two cap in // where in Dunlop circuit a 10n cap is present) .
The metalic stuff close to the footswitch is the.....inductor ( ) (I haven't tool to know its value)
Hello everyone!
A few days ago i was lucky enough to get an Ibanez AD 80 for a pretty good price. It just seems to have a little problem: When i turn up the delaytime beyond three o'clock, i hear a strange whistling that comes with the delay repeats. It's very high pitched and gets even louder when i turn it all the way up. It's subtle but it's there, and i have to keep the delay time before three to avoid it.
I turned the internal clock-trimpot all the way back and it improved things a bit,...
I tried to built the unit (schem attached). But I get not enough boost and distortion from the unit. The bass/treble pots make drastic changes, they boost it into distortion if turned clockwise.
I dont understand the unit. What is the function of Q1?I f a plug is inserted R1 is connected to ground. Strange voltages on Q1 (mV readings). I tried diferent orientations of the transistors.
For something different..
I decided to score one of those are they soundtanks or not? Daphon Analog delays sold for a few bucks on the bay with slightly exaggerated shipping. They're so awfully cheap that they might be a fun project and, in case of failure, little is lost.
One point off for bloody lazy shipping. Took more than 2 weeks to ship from Germany to Holland.
Three points off for not being allowed to be sold in Europe at all. This bugger is in the category of cheap consumables and...
Hi,
Anyone got access to an EHX Small Clone Reissue?
I would be grateful for a few gut shots if possible.
This is the vintage-style folded metal enclosure version (same look as an old Small Stone etc) Im talking about.
