Well...Not quite a stompbox, as it was a 1U Rackmount, but in case someone wants to make it more compact here is the schematic (i do not remember where i found it). Many folks thinks this is the best leslie sim on the planet. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd still uses one of these.
I am wanting to RE Case an old Whammy 2 because its real flimsy. The goal was to just re case and replace the rocker with a pot w/ a big knob as i only use it as a SET/Fixed effect, never rocking it while playing...... The design is making this really hard to act on.
The rocker pedal is REALLY unusual to ME. I have never seen anything like it. Inside it is physically moving a red led close or further away from a LDR according to the foot position (heel/toe)
I received a mail with comments about this schematic:
There is a fatal flaw in the FX-52 schematic. Shown where the external
power supply comes in is a cap and a diode. That should be a Zener diode
and with a resistor in series with it. A regular diode would clamp you down
to 0.6 volts.
If he's right I need a corrected version of that drawing :D
Well, I repaired one of these babes last week, the issue with the unit was mechanicall, so no schem was needed, but the owner of the pedal told me he had seen the schem somewhere in the net... so after 5 minutes googling found it... the schem is rather too bulky for calling it DIY friendly IMHO, but maybe some of you could find it useful:
After having so much fun and little trouble playing with my DS-1 , I had to turn to a dusty but near mint Autowah I have had for long time but never used.
My google kung fu failed me -- I couldn't find a schematic for this one, only for its predecessor the TW-1 .
I know you can get it for $5 from ronsound.com -- but then again he doesn't even guarantee it to be complete
Might just start replacing the caps, but I'm not sure it will do away with the ultra shrill piercing sound it...
I recently won one these pedals on eBay. Does anybody have any info on the pedal or the brand. Seems to be a not-so-well-known japanese brand. Google doesn't really help. The seller said the pedal was from the late 70's.
I have taken some pictures here:
The pictures of the circuit board suck though, as it was difficult to get a good look on the part side (didn't want to remove the pots). I noticed the pedal has the same IC's as the Electric Mistress, so I started comparing the Rozz with the...
Anyone know anything about this one (boss turbo distortion)? Just wondering what the 'turbo' bit does...Just looked at a schematic online and it has 23 transistors in it.....confused....
My name is Carlos Best. I'm from Argentina.
Recently I bough an old POD 2.0 wich uses de old line 6 pedalboard system (Floorboard or FB4)
Wich I have in mind is trying to clone one of those pedalboards.
Two reasons:
1st: Availability: It's a discontinued product
2nd: Price. My POD cost roughly 100uss. Don't want to spend more than 100uss in a pedalboard icon_biggrin
RESEARCH FIRST:
I have found a VERY useful article wich analyzes the floorboard circuit.
Can anyone shed any light on this pedal. I'm sure I've seen this posted here or on the net somewhere but, I managed to find gut shots. (If there is any info on this pedal already, please don't shoot me down and tell me to use the SEARCH button. See what happens when you type The Fuzz and Search). Joke.
Forgive me if this is not the proper section to post this in. I have a EHX hog on the way and I'd like to build (if possible) a smaller clone of the preset controller. I was told this may not be possible, its not like most footswitch controllers out there - like the Boss ones.
This is a gutshot of the 2880 controller which apparently is the same thing. Anyway this can be cloned or is the programmed IC make it impossible? The controller connects to the HOG via a 1/4 cable so I was thinking...
I traded it for a crappy chorus. It sounds pretty good and FF-like with a pronounced top end that doesn't get brittle, although it may not be everyone's cup of tea because of it. It sounds particularly nice with single coils into a 70s Marshall Superlead type amp.
It is basically an Axis Fuzz with an input buffer and a BMP style tone contrl (fatness). I haven't traced the Axis Fuzz part as it's easily found on the net. Sorry for the crappy quality (not much time + bad scanner) :
I just missed buying this on the bay. In the hour or so I was thinking about it someone beat me to the punch.
I`m getting the impression that these are worth significantly more than the $100 it just went for.
Does anyone here have one of these that can comment on it`s sonic qualities. I haven`t been able to find much discussion on it on the web, but what I did find leads me to believe that it is a pedal worth building.
Because there are several people who speak/understand Russian here:
I recently received this one:
But it's not very clear to me where I have to plug in the expression pedal or which are the in- and outputs (usually they have different labels which I can't find here)
So if someone could translate the labels for me...

Translations of pictures 3 and 6 of the auction are also very welcome :D
