I haven't seen this one here already, so I gave it a trace both for personal fun and curiosity:

Some values aren't there because they weren't marked on the silkscreen like the others, and I'm not going to pull them out to check. You get the gist of it though: they basically doubled up most caps with another one in parallel. The tone stack is a flatter variant. The bass boost literally mixes some lowpassed signal with the tone stack output. The parallel dry blend is done in a...
Hey lovers of the deep tone,
attached you can find my attempt to trace this big tank.
It's my second attempt to trace a pedal so please be kind. I used a continuity tester and the magnifying glass app with the flashlight of my cell phone to get it done. The schematic is made with Kicad.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of knowledge in electronics. I don't now exactly which component is part of a feedback loop and which is a high pass etc or (and) especially for this pedal which component is...
This one has escaped the forums and layout sites. Switchable 4/6/10 stages, the feedback control is minimum at noon, one direction adds fb out of phase, the other in.
gut shot here:
i thought i'd add it even tho i cant see it being used, its always nice to have more schems and pics on the forum.
for $89 i think its a great deal, i love this effect...it kicks ass over the box of metal IMO!
Hi, gang!
I want to build a couple MXR 6-band EQs, and for a potential source for parts I bought an MXR 1/3 Octave EQ. My question for the group is: are the slide pots in the rack-mounted EQ the same as in the 6-band stomp box? They are marked 100-1040-104 (MXR part number?) and 1378342. Thanks for your help!
Tony
Just released today, Jorsh has done us the great favor of sharing both sides of the PCB. Blendable octave fuzz with a cool old-school hand-drawn PCB, shouldn't be a hard trace at all...
I just got my harley benton power attenuator, it comes with a very confusing manual so I opened it up. Can anybody confirm that this thing can run without a cabinet attached while still using line-out?
Hi does anyone have the schematic for the Twin Tube Blue SFX-11 or know the differences of components other than the tubes from the SFX-03 schematic . It looks like they use the same pc board.
Thanks PCB.
I'm back with a new Exar circuit traced :D , unfortunately, I was a bit busy all the time. I traced Exar HV-03 Hoover, and it appeared to be quite interesting inside. Here is what it looks like with a box.
PXL_20230501_082954962.jpg
The translation of a pedal description from the user manual:
HV-03 is a device operating on the principle of overloading the input stage of the amplifier. The signal is subjected to the process of compression and extension of the sound. In addition to the...
Hi,
i searched the web but am unable to find a schematic for the Proel DS10.
Not the most sought after effect but i like it a lot and would like to build a few and see if i can tweak it .
A schematic would be a big help.
Attatched are a few gutshots.
Quick search tells me there's nothing on these yet...
Although it's difficult to tell from a yt clip, this actually sounds reasonably like an FZ-1A:
A couple of gutshots have surfaced, and to me looking very Bosstone sans clipping diodes (which you can add yourself) and a couple of free pads for a more bass-friendly response. Seems Jack Orman independently concurs from the youtube comments...
Whatever, it sounds pretty good to me and cheap enough to snag out of curiousity.
I don't have an circuit analysis to offer at this juncture, but I've not seen any gut shots of the Kongpressor on the Internet, so I thought I'd supply some. It looks like it might have originally been named Squash Comp in the design phase.
The clustered strips of resistors is unusual looking, to my eye, I haven't seen anything quite like it in the few dozen pedals I've opened up.
I just bought a MXR Badass Modified Distortion to trace, so here are some PCB pictures and a schematic.
I have traced the full effect but as usual I don't bother with the fet bypass and led indicating lights.
first the PCB pics. There are two PCB's one has the main circuit and the second has the control pots and is connected to the main PCB with a ribbon cable.
Hey everyone.
I stumbled upon a old psk boss clone, which turns out to be a rat with asymmetrical soft clipping, with buffered bypass... or a sd-1 using a LM308, if you'd prefer.
I tried to find some other pedals like this one, but I couldn't, does anyone know about some already existing overdrives using lm308 / rat with only feedback diodes clipping?
Thanks!
Here are some pics, and a schematic from what I traced :
Apparently it is a Klon, haven't been able to test it properly, because it whines so hard the signal is indiscernible, both when active and when in bypass (true bypass?).
I did open it up yesterday evening, but did not take pictures, will do that tonight.
It's got two TL072's (SMT, like most of the components) and a 7660, IIRC. Might just get rid of the 7660 and use a higher voltage wallwart.
Anyone else have issues with theirs? Would think that these pedals are more popular than they are...
I watched a few demos of this when it came out and thought it was a really cool concept, but was outside of my price range at the time. Luckily, I managed to get a good deal on one second hand. I opened it up out of curiosity, expecting it to be full of SMT. Much to my surprise I was met with a double sided board populated with nice big through-hole parts, made tracing a breeze.
Having looked inside I have to say I'm fairly impressed. The pedal has a separate power board between the 9V barrel...
