I thought it would be fun to buy the cheapest dirt pedal on eBay China and see what use it is, so I ended up with a Twinote Boogie. (Actually there are a couple of slightly cheaper 1590A-style pedals but I wanted a bigger enlsoure).
As an off-the-shelf pedal it's pretty terrible. It's supposed to be an 'amp simulator' but it's just mushy, wolly distortion. Meh. For giggles I traced the circuit. It's peculiar. Lots of redundant stuff and weird choices, maybe it will amuse some forum members....
This is my first time trying anything like this, and first post here, so correct me if anything seems iffy.
My bassist brother had a Snarling Dogs Bootzilla fuzz/wah laying around collecting dust, so I bought it off him to see if I could mod it. I looked around online, saw next to nothing on anything that wasn't the Mold Spore or Whine-oh, so I figured I had a duty to post this thing up.
From the Factory:
I liked the wah sound - the hi and mid range wah settings work pretty well on...
I know a lot of people are familiar with adding a volume control to the MXR Micro Flanger, but I am having issues finding the exact info as to how it's done (aside from a couple of pics that don't tell me much. Does anyone have the schematic and well-written directions on where exactly to solder? I'm not very handy with electronics, so a for dummies explanation would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Did some Work on the Red Witch Ruby Fuzz, which was initialised by pk1802 on this Thread:
I found this idea very fine with the Akku driven to go fuzz and finally bought one. Because it had a terrible sound (some scratchy crossoverdistortion/Digital distortion like),
I decided to open it up for modding it- Hard work- it took hours with magnifier-but at least...
Volume pot is right, don´t know why they wired it that way (was my first mod- twisting th legs of poti...)
The...
I recently got a newer Arion Stereo Chorus that only outputs a clean sound when engaged and I don’t want to just shotgun parts into it hoping it works. I would guess maybe the first culprit would be one of the BBD chips but I’d like to know if there was a way to test them to make sure.
I'm new posting here, but I've been reviewing here lots of information that has been quite usefull to me for years, and first of all I want to thank anyone that has post anything at anytime on this forum. WWW is so usefull because of people like you.
After digging on the web, (and obviously this forum), I didn't find any relevant information about true-bypassing a NewSensor Deluxe Memory Man pedal.
The schematics, that were not easy to get, can be found here
I'm interested in modding my LMB-3 with the Steve McKinley Thunder mod. Wondered if anyone has tried it and knows what it actually is.
I can't afford to send my pedal half way around the world to get this mod done so want to do it myself, but I can't find any information on what the actual changes are.
Hi guys, does anyone have any infos on this pedal. I have attached pics that culd be found online. So far it looks very simple, I think input and output buffers, driver for reverb tank and mixer circuit.
I'm trying to add a feedback loop to a EFY-6 layout (see attached).
The usual approach of Effect Output -> Effect Input feedback loop does not seem to work on this circuit.
I've been poking around the thing with an alligator clip, and I have found that if do Effect Output -> Octave2/3, I get a little distortion/boost, but not the feedback screeching I'm looking for.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'll do some more experimenting, but if there are any suggestions or knowledge about how to...
I doubt that this is where I'm supposed to put something like this, but I couldn't really find any other place to put it that made sense.
I'm sure that this basic topic has been done to death, and I can already hear Dirk Hendrik's eyes rolling all the way over in Amsterdam  , but the comparison of op amps is something that I find fascinating. However, I have a theory when it comes to op amp substitution in distortion/overdrive pedals: The choice of op amp doesn't really matter if the...
So I actually ordered the Distortion version of this, but they sent me the wrong thing as usual. So what do you do when you get your money refunded and you got a brand new pedal?
You take it apart of course.
I took some really good hi-res pictures for you but I got to figure out where to host them right now.
Anyway the schematic for the bluesbreaker lines up 99% to the layout of this board it's using the standard jrc4558 4 standard diodes set up in the second stage feedback loop. Well-built...
I acquired one of these in a trade many, many moons ago, and it's one of the only branded pedals i still have, it's always been so unique I could never let it go. I've wanted to trace it for ages and for some reason, after 6 years, I decided this weekend was finally the time.
First off, this is incomplete - the board is SMT and I couldn't borrow the cap meter from work this weekend. There's a few through hole caps, but the majority of the values will remain a mystery until i can measure them....
This Latin expression translates to English, as the small greats. The perfect inspiration to build a small low power amplifier with great tone.
This is the first step of a pleasurable journey, of crowdsourcing ideas, visualization of concepts, experimentation of possibilities, design of prototypes and enjoying the final amplifiers.
Currently there are a few options in the market, with a wide variety of tubes ranging from the current production ones to the NOS...
Found this nice effect; was already a fan of the EHX Hot Tubes (CMOS version) so I couldn't leave this alone.
The tone from the box was just terrible......... Could not imagine that someone would like that...... and then considering that some bought it for this........
Standard schematic:

So I modded it to Hot Tubes specs:
Snarling Dogs - Black dog MOD1.JPG
But ended up with this pedal:

Here's a schematic I have of the rackmount Yamaha E1010 analog delay. It's split into two images and the resolution isn't the best. If anyone has a larger/ higher res. copy please post.
