So, I got this DD3 in that I could not recognise from the insides. I have seen a lot of different versions over the years (Big IC, IC on the 'other' side of the board, SMD units, etc) but this one is different.
I got this in for a trails mod, a mod I've done a lot on the older models. But this unit lacks the common points I use to perform the mod. There is no 570 IC in this unit and the signal path is different. It also sounds not like my own DD3...... more...
Hi. I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I have an Ibanez TS-7 that is currently not working. I bought it in unknown condition, and while the bypass works properly, when the pedal is engaged there is no sound. After opening and a quick inspection, I noticed that at least the D7 diode is broken. What replacement part can be used for this?
Here are some guts from this phaser (did not find any on the net except for a crappy trackside). Nicely sounding I think. The plastic case seems tough enough for FX purpose. There aren't any offboard wiring apart from the battery leads...
an improved version of the overdrive found in the OFO Disnortion. Pigtronix added a Class A J-FET booster stage to the front end....Featuring a JRC4558 chip and the ability to run at up to 15 volts......
Hi All
The first Shredmaster schematics circulating years ago , showed an inverting configuration of the third opamp (just after the tone stack).
Afterward original Marshall schematics were exclusively showing a non-inverting configuration for that opamp.
Pls. if someone knows:
Were those first schematics simply wrong, i.e. Marshall never produced a version of the SM w/inverting stage?
Is it known whether Marshall implemented different schematics during production?
I was just comparing a Tubescreamer-Schematic with that of mentioned stompboxes. Can anyone explain the difference in how the first two gain stages are setup (inverting) compared to the tubescreamer (non inverting) and what this means sound wise?
Ok I got a RACK VERSION of a rev1 chandler tube driver...BUT...this has been modified by the previous owner
He's an acoustic guitar master and used this ONLY as a preamp...so asked a tech to modify this to REMOVE any drive or distorte signal
I can provide gutshots of everything inside but its modified so the request is
ANYONE HAS a PCB LAYOUT/PHOTO/ or actually a rack like the one I have...just Open it and give me some info
i cant really see any sign of mod (apart from some new resistor or...
Chinese Klon Clone. The op amps are marked with JRC4558, the charge pump chip is TC1044.
It sounds okay, good in its sweet spots, but I have not played a real Klon or any of the popular clones so I can't really compare. It's in the realm of the Klon sound, but listening to videos on youtube only goes so far.
It's true bypass only, no switchable buffered bypass.
Soldering looks okay to me, apart from a few components not being aligned straight.
I was a bit afraid this would be yet another distortius maximus, but slight hope of seeing a pinnacle got me buying one. Nope. None of the above. Three 4558s, volume and gain A100K, bass C50K, mids A100K and treble A50K. No guesses from me at the moment as i won't have the time to trace it anytime soon. Sounds extremely good for a 25€ pedal.
I traced this unit a couple years ago, i took some photos at the time but i can't find them anymore.
T1 is a BC547, the Jfet is a J201 and the Opamp is LF353.
Official service schematic and component layout of the vintage MXR 117 Flanger
This is one I haven't found posted elsewhere (for free), so here it is.
Marked as official, and I can confirm that it looks to be spot on compared to mine.
Hi! first post here...
I own a little mean Guyatone HD2, a distortion/fuzz pedal, plenty of gain and very bright... The manufacturer's website claims it is similar to a 70's Big Muff, but I've never made any confrontation... The sound is very good, very harmonic :) but it lacks a tone control... I guess with some little mods it could be a great effect.
I could try and take some gutshots if anyone is interested...
I just picked up a dead Univibe UV-1 with pedal for less than a 10 box of strings - couldn't resist.
Pedal is the last revision with the single board - no chip on the switch board, etc.
Board has a 2-12-03 date but I think this is the 1997 version as it says REV A.
No power or LED's - nothing jumps out as a problem - but beyond confirming that power is getting to the regulator, not sure where to go next.
There is 18 vdc on pin 1 of the UA7815...
Friends, a took a peak into a (now) defect yellow pfhazel...
This, to me, is a torroidal core... which makes this the same as the red one... Any thought or comments? Did I miss anything? :hmmm:
Hey everybody.
A lot of the fun with these cheapo clones (Joyo, Nux, Caline etc.) derives from the guesswork which pedal they ripped off. While most of the Caline lineup has been decoded, no one bothered to take a look the CP-15. There were some guesses, ranging from Wampler Triple Wreck to EHX Metal Muff. So I did, what we do best: Bought one and opened it! :horsey:
The leaflet straight up tells you that it is inspired by the Boss Metal Zone MT2, but while I am no use a tracing, the topology...
