I mounted the 16mm pots direct to the vero.

I got the normal TS sounds, but the Muff tone stack & body control give some enourmous tonal differences.

Hi folks
here's a new wah I designed and built recently.
it uses a Whipple inductor (although other inductors should work reasonably well :wink: ).
P3 and P2 on the layout refer to the potentiometer terminals (P1 is connected to ground :wink: )
MPSA42 was chosen for low hfe - a 2N3904 will work well here too :wink: .
I used 2M7 resistors in this build instead of the 2M2 specified on the overlay picture - not a big difference - they are only there as fet biasing :) .
The wah shell was purchased...

I found this circuit on diystompboxes. The spacing for the trimmers was a little wide for the parts I could get buy locally.

I have closed up the spacing and added the bias trimmer mentioned on the original circuit.

I've built the effect and the new layout works. Lots of sound options, with trimmers for each section of the circuit.

Thought I would post it up. Hope someone can make use of it.

A couple guys at the ILoveFuzz forum wanted to do a group build, and they decided on the Thing Modulator. So I volunteered to do a PCB layout. I named it LOGAN 5 because it sounds like some of the oddball music in Logan's Run. Not my cup of tea, but plenty of people dig the sound.

I was in need of some kind of clipping testing ground, so I've made one. Not sure the DIP switch spacing, I hope it's fine.

BTW, I've made quite a few tagboard layout's but this is my first PCB. Be easy on my Mr.Dirk ;)

As an experiment, in a recording studio recently, I had a box with me that allowed switching between different types of clipper. The basic circuit was a low noise Tubescreamer type (circuit below), with the option of differing diodes, MOSFETs, transistors and LEDs for clipping. The clippers could either be connected to the inverting input of the first op-amp or to the mid-rail (which is AC ground because of the large electrolytic from the midpoint of the bias potential divider).

I love the Butler tube driver, but I'm NOT paying that much for something with crap parts! So I'm playing with the idea of getting some PCBs made to hold things like Orange Drop caps and RN60 resistors. (I'm a Vishay fan, what can I say?) The more people I can get to order, the cheaper it'll be. So I hope there's interest in getting some PCBs made for a mojoized Butler!

Here's something I've been working on for a while. I've built a few precursors, but this one has not been tested yet.

Its a 5 Band Parametric/Shelf EQ that mates 3 Bands of Gyrator Band Pass with a pseudo-baxandall High and Low Shelf.

The Parametric Sections are based on an RG Keen article at geofex. The Bax-ish stuff is adapted from what I've seen in a few overdrive designs.

The controls are as follows,
Bass Cut/Boost
(3x) Mid Cut/Boost - Frequency - Q
Treble Cut/Boost - Shelf

Here you have cloned Rat2 pcb which is taken from early 90's rev. L dated 12/86 like the schematic (Thanks Soul Sonic for that :thumbsup ).
The pcb is in jpeg format, i do not know dimensions so play around with that and you will figure it out. If you need it in some other format just ask and i will reupload it. Uki wrighting on the board is my little brother nickname and i called my clone Uki becouse he is little 6 years old dinamit :D

component values for this build are unchanged from the schematic .... only change : pin 7 is tied to +V .... the soundclip is guitar into effect into line6 amp simulation software w/ a touch of reverb .... i'm really impressed with the rhythm channel sounds this circuit can give you .... very amp-like to my ears .... compared to Craig Anderton's Tube Sound Fuzz ...

Hi all i have had this board for quite a while now and not really done anything with it so i thougt i would share it with the world :). It a slight copy of the Clyde McCoy wah and the only difference is, is the Ge transistors are silicon and the layout is my own.

Here is a schematic.

As you can see i have placed extra copper taces for your own sized inductor. With this you can drill your own holes.

With this build i would recommend getting yourself a 520Mh inductor for that real classic...

I Thought I would contribute with something here so here is the project file for a Zvex seeks Wha type of effect. The layout is done to fit in a small Hammond 1590A enclosure but of cause it can be fitted in any type of box.

You can use the cap value to tame the bass.

1) You pick a cube of foam, slightly deeper than the guitar body and a little wider than the soundhole;

2) Draw two concentric circles, one of the soundhole diameter, the other a little wider.

DISCLAIMER: Like the title says, this is NOT a 1:1 copy of the pig mine, just my attempts to get close to the sound of it. I have no idea what transistors are being used here, my current complement is Q1 = 2N4401 Q2, 3 = BC109C (from a set hat i kept aside for the top fuel from these boards but never got down to making) Q4 = 2N5088.
