Looking for a particular component or hardware part and you just cannot find it? Got comoonents surplus and want to get rid of it? Post it all here... No sales of working pedals, put these in the 'Seen for sale' section please.
I'm opening up this forum for people who want to get rid of some stuff they bought too much of. If I was hesistant about this initally, it was only because of the problems and altrication that might come from this, rather than this idea of members helping out one another.

These are all ORIGINAL NEW old stock CTS /MXR pots
Stored since MXR UK closed mid 80's
I hope people find these of use
(I have populated PCB's for pedals , MXR early rack kit PCB's and some MXR drum machine parts - will take a few weeks to sort)
NOTE - Two sets of SAME PART CODE have tested with 2 different values! That info may already be known or of use.
with 'wire tails' were built with about 1 inch solid wire on each connection ready for Commande series I think
I have the option to pick these up but I can find very little on these online. Has anyone ever used them in their builds? Like in. A Rat to replace the IM308?
Hey folks,
I'm wondering if anyone has or if we could put together a list of parts to keep an eye out for at electronics swap meets, yard sales, etc. I work at MIT and occasionally go to the the radio club's swap meets, come across stashes of stuff in cruft piles, etc, but I don't know what I should be looking out for.
I decided to attempt my first guitar pedal, using the GEO Fex pdf of the Austin Treble Blaster:
for their clone take on the Dallas Rangemaster. I'm having a hard time finding a transistor from the ones the pdf mentions that have a gain between 65-100. Also in datasheets it's hard to pin down how the gain is listed, some clarification on this would be nice.
Looking for anything close that would be suitable. Seems the transistor needs a tuning process to get it to a sweet spot for the pedal to...
I am so jazzed about the smoothness of transacting a group buy with the Aqua Puss clone, I was wondering if there would be any interest in having abfackeln host a dc-2 clone group buy!!! I would really love to get one of these going!!! Jfromel, before you chime in with your version of the boards, I wouldn't mind one of those either but if we could raise enough orders and get the boards close to the under 5$ price that we experienced with the aqua puss clones, it would be great for all of us....
Dunno what I need to do to pass this oldie but goodie on to someone who will put it to good use.
I live in Burlington, NC. Yes it works and it is Rack mounted. It is all tube, and pretty big, and has a nice bright trace and built-in delay line so you can see what triggered the trace.
I designed lots of FX with it decades ago, although I just don't do much of that nowdays, I loved getting it for $125 back in the day.
Certainly somebody wants this baby. Makes troubleshooting FX and amps EASY...
Trying to source a replacement rotary selector for my WH1. Looking to order from mouser as I have an account with them and have narrowed my search to this component www.mouser.com/ds/2/96/288-2255.pdf] but struggling with two sections of the part code...
Working through the ordering info I've come to this code with two ? ?... 2-288xca0k??a2
The C refers to the bushing length of the pot and could theoretically be either B C or D.
The A0 refers to the shaft length and could also be A5 and...
More and more FETs are getting EOL and manufacturers are moving from THT to SMD. Nothing new so far.
Although 2N5458 THT are still available they will slowly disapearing from the market. Now the question is what more future proof replacements will be.
I am making a ProCo Rat and thought of replacing the 2N5458 THT with a J310 SMD (MMBFJ310) in the output buffer. It should be a direct replacement on paper. Or not? Any thoughts on that?
Toying with some new pedal build ideas and just wondering if anyone has ever seen a pedal-sized PCB-mount push-button switch which has a 'half-way down' position as well as a full-way down position? Both latching states.
I could be raving mad :D but I'd imagine it working like this
Position 1: Unpressed -> contacts 1 and 2 (or example) shorted
Position 2: Half-pressed -> contacts 3 and 4 (for example) shorted
Position 3: Full-pressed -> contacts 5 and 6 (for example) shorted
Hey all,
I'm looking at maybe building a ValveCaster as my 3rd build. I'm really happy with my last two builds, a SHO and a FF, and keeping with the fuzzstortion theme, i think a valvecaster is a good call. ;)
I've a few questions regarding the tubes, and a few things i'd love to have cleared up.
Firstly, the recommended tube for the ValveCaster is a 12AU7. I know a 12AX7 can be used, and would provide more gain, although it has been reported as being too much. But what about some of the...
Has anybody had any issues with this Ebayer? Reason I ask is I'm trouble shooting a Small Stone build and want to know if anybody has bought fake chips or transistors from them. The SMD CA3080M's that I purchased have no notch or dot for pin 1 rather one side of the IC, (the side with pin 1) is slightly slanted and the other side is not. Listing says its for Intersil/Harris IC's and I'm wondering if this is correct. If anybody has bought from them leave a post and let me/us know how it went,...
Have just fell upon a bunch of these panel mount, screwdriver adjust pots that I have no idea what to do with. A41610203 10k 137.6621 is what is imprinted on the side.
Couldn't find a lot of info on these from those numbers. I wish I could find some kind of knob that would fit these but other than 3D printing something I've had no luck. They would work good for a bias control in a tube amp/fuzz circuits. I only have the pots, no hardware. I tried some of the nuts that come with the Alpha pots...
Hi,
does somebody knows where I can get a tap tempo chip to control the CD4047 in a DIY deluxe memory man in Europe?
I think it just needs to supply a constant voltage to the VCO according to the tapped frequency.
Ideally it would also have an LFO for modulation, like the MV-64.
Unfortunately, I can only get the TAPLFO chips, but I really need a tap tempo.
I'm already waiting 4 months to my order from small bear to come through the customs, but I guess the pandemic made it even worse....
Is there such a thing as unbranded?
They all have Hfe of around 270-330. And ebc instead of cbe like the Motorola BC238B's in my old JEN Doublesound.
Have packet of 25 bought from 6k8 years ago.
They sound good in my fuzz board, low noise. Wanted to find their datasheet.
Will this audio transformer (429-7216-RC) be a good choice for an Octavia clone? It's shielded and ever so slightly smaller. More expensive but an improvement maybe?
429-7216-RC
The schematic I have recommends this one:
42TM022-RC
But also mentions that this one can be used with no apparent difference to the sound:
42TM018-RC
What is says. Display is model HDM16216L-S-LC1P, by Hantronix. I assume it works, it still has the plastic on it. I received it in a multi-pack grab-bag package from Jameco years ago. Never messed with it.
Would like to trade for a number or round piezos, with wires on them if possible (like this one:
looking for number of them, Maybe 20-30 or more? Whatcha got? Thanks!
what is a good replacement for q5 that is still in production? I was just looking on mouser and it appears that usuals are now out of production...2n5457, mpf102, j201.
Hello all was wondering if there was a good substitute for the 2SK44C JFET for the Guyatone FS6 fuzz. Can pretty much any common JFET work? Thanks in advance! Also seeing it’s a Big Muff inspired circuit minus the output transistor stage do I stand to experience a sizable volume drop when the effect is engaged?
I need a couple of Omeg pots for a Dunlop Octave Wah I'm fixing. Looking for a 22k linear and 470k audio. 6mm or 6.35mm solid shaft preferred. The originals have a body that's 20mm in diameter.
