After the show about Dharma sound an Orange pedals I too a look at there range one is really peculiar, the Sweeper. As far as I could see:
5 transistor
LM1458
a rotary switch 2 positions (?) down 1 2
a pot Trip
and a LDR, lamp
Any idea what it is?
Ben
Does anyone have schematics or traces of the old Electra Guitar MPC modules? Just picked up a nice MPC guitar, and would like to attempt to make a module board, but would like to first see the thought process behind them, as the guitar uses one 150K pot to control one parameter on the effect. Pretty simple, I'd assume.
Any help would be appreciated. I'd even buy a broken or functional module to work from.
I don't know what it is with booster plugs lately... this one wasn't documented yet. Great pictures on this website
Basic Vox Distortion Booster circuit with hard clipping diodes...
I have no information on the transistors.... I suppose any usual suspect could work...
I am working on building a Shin-ei FY-2 clone (based on the uzzfay page here ), but I'm having the commonly reported problem of volume loss, has anybody found a way to fix this while keeping the tone as similar as possible??
Hi, gang! Here are some gut shots of my Memphis Tremolo modulator, and also an x-ray component side shot of the PCB showing parts & placement. I have seen gut shots of many other Memphis pedals online that use the exact same PCB! VERY clever engineering! I had originally intended to draw up a schematic also, but I'm too lazy to do that by hand anymore. Perhaps a group member might suggest an intuitive (like: drag and drop schematic symbols from a list) program for drawing schematics?
Shockingly great sounding pedal from Memphis. Guts and PCB, I'd like to trace a schem.

Interesting to me is the number of wasted traces and empty holes. Clearly they manufactured 2 or 3 boards and built different effects by populating different areas, but i wonder what else they made with this board.
EDIT: forgot to mention that this is AFTER i already true bypassed it, it had the usual spdt switch from the 70's.
Looks like this thread got lost during the great downtime? Just a quick recap:
These are essentially rackmount versions of the Ibanez stompboxes of the 808/9/10 era (although many of them are subtly to very different) including an MN3007 based flanger and chorus and MN3005 based delay (at least by the AD9 days the Ibanez delay was 3205 based IIRC). The problem is that, without the pedal, you can't engage the pedal in any sort of way, it just sits there...
Howdy!
I like the look of the Urei Mod One discrete opamp. It uses 5 BJT transistors.
My question is how do I adapt this circuit to germanium BJT transistors? Got a bunch of Soviet ones and would like to use them! I am trying to learn the math behind it, so I'd like to learn why/how it works or doesn't work.
Can I reverse engineer from silicon BJTs? (Essentially the opposite of this:
Thanks for your help in advance!
I was wondering is it possible to run 2 different power supplies within the one effect pedal. With one supply being
+15V -15V from a 9VDC source through a charge pump. With the second power requirement for a second part of the circuit isolated from first part also powered from same 9VDC source, only this section powered as +9v and 0V GND with bias for op amps.??? If this is possible, I were hoping some kind people here could please advise me on how to achieve as much, even a pictorial basic...
I have been looking for a schematic for the ADA MP1 channel pedal, but no luck. This is the tube pedal. I looked at the VAULT ( and contacted MarshallJMP who sells parts for the old ADA devices.
I also looked to purchase one the pedals, but I do not see them for sale.
Please let me know if you have a schematic you could share, or maybe someone that has one and would be willing to take pictures.
I couldn't find a schematic, sound files or any great gut shots of this one...There's some decent pics at:
Anyway, lemme know if this has already been traced or if there's any schemes or sound files out there.
If not, I'll open it up shortly.
I can tell you it's sounds like it's a Fuzz Rite topology. It blends a fuzz into a clean signal the exact same way.
The big difference is that the clean is louder, bassier (almost muddy) and a bit more distorted and at full ( increase ),
there's still...
Nope. A R5101 Reticon is not suitable for a new project. They're more rare than Pygmee foreskin leather. But since I have one of these with a (thoroughly) confirmed dead Reticon a rework for a PT2399 is in the make. Not analog anymore but still with the same heavy filtering which will then be called analog voiced :blackeye
Hello, I recently made a copy of it following old analogguru schematic:
but the result is really poor comparing to the original sound found on youtube...
1 thing, schematic have a square wave LFO, and clearly on records the sound is made with a triangular wave FLO. Anyone had the chance to serve one and trace it?
Regards
Benoit
PS: web archive have all the original analogguru schematics if someone is interested
