I've recently noticed that Tim's great site at is coming up as a virus, trojan horse, or other bad things in my browser. So I thought I'd grab all the circuit images and zip them up for safe keeping. I have emailed him in the recent past, but there has been no reply. :hmmm:
Attached is a zip file of ALL of the effects circuits from his site.
Rock on, and may the creative spirit of the Great Escobedo be with you always. :thumbsup
For a long time I've felt guilty that my pedal board didn't include a compressor. Finally, after about a year of breadboarding, I have produced a circuit that can take on a Dynacomp and win , boasting:
Up to five times more headroom than a Dynacomp
Less noise than a Dynacomp
Same available sustain as a Dynacomp
Fewer parts than a Dynacomp
Cheaper than a Dynacomp
Feedforward side chain
Possibility for all five controls
Fits in 1590B
Millennium bypass

Calling all Neil Young fans
Here is the BAJA 5E3 Deluxe 9v overdrive pedal for you
I designed the vero layout first using forum member bancika's excellent DIY PCB creator software, before building this pedal and it worked first time - lol.
Here is the schematic, vero layout and vero cutting guide (viewed from the track side  ). I bought some vero clone board from a supplier on Aliexpress - a bit cheaper than the genuine vero and it works extremely well too!
enjoy :thumbsup...
Here is the second installment of my bass amplifier series - the Ampeg SVT in 9v pedal friendly format.
Plug this pedal into any high wattage power amplifier and experience the Super Valve Technology sound without tubes
This design is based on the original Ampeg SVT but with the 5 frequency bands mid boost / cut rotary switch used in the later SLM MkII model.
I left the bass cut option in the ultra bass switch control out as well just as they did in the MkII  However I modeled the...
So many different orange amplifier schematics and so many different topologies - I settled on the 72 graphic mkII to base this pedal on.
Hope you like it - here is the schematic for now - vero layout to follow shortly
cheers

Seems there’s been a good bit released but not much talk anymore. For instance the Movall line up is different. I have the absolute zero fuzz and it sounds great. There’s several other pedals in that series that sound good in samples atleast. I bought the chorus based on a video but mine had a high pitched whine. Was a shame because it sounded like a more tweak able Small Clone. I tried their flanger. It ISNT a mistress but it can sound close. There’s a width trimpot on the inside. However the...
I got this pedal in as it was making a lot of noise. The noise was as loud as the effect and made the pedal useless. I traced the noise to a single 470p cap.
I also traced the pedal:

I got one of these cause they seemed cool. It sounded alright when I played it so I ended up tracing it to see what was going on under the hood. Going off the other pedals by this brand I'm pretty sure its a clone, not sure exactly what it's a clone of but there are some familiar elements. A TS style soft clipper with switchable asymmetry into a two-band Baxandall followed by a JFET buffer. (Yes, I know there's a gate resistor 'missing' from the buffer, it is not a tracing mistake, and the...
I sent a bunch of pics to AG a while back, but I know he has a lot more important things to worry about these days...
Unfortunately I dont have wiring photos (and I can't remember the name of the guy who sent these pics to me....) , but these should get us close. We'll just have to make an educated guess about the pot values and wiring.
I am a member since 2017, regarding a lot of the interesting contents here all the time and now I decided to ask the community for the first time. I am 66 years old and living in Germany, playing guitar & bass and built a lot of little tube amps, cabs and some fx units.
So, my question is:
please have a look at this
I am looking for the circuit/schematic, on which this pcb is based on. I am not able to trace the circuit. So maybe there is a member who built and analysed it?...
I'm looking for a guitar potentiometer range that can be easily opened up, have the wafer swapped and closed again.
Preferably the only tools needed should be screwdriver, pliers, spanner.
The larger 24mm would be best.
And of course, I wouldn't want them to cost the earth.
Alpha pots don't seem to be very easy for this.
I bought some Fleor pots that look a bit like CTS pots, but getting the wafer off the spindle is not proving easy.
I have both a 80s BK garage made Tubedriver and his latest reissue. After trying countless tubes I have discovered the NOS Telefunken ECC81 to give the best results. I have 3 of these tubes and they are extremely consistent providing great tone, mojo, and character to these pedals. To my ears the difference is astounding in both pedals. Yes, they are expensive but do not disappoint. Has anyone else discovered the same result?
Hi
I forget where I found this, but it seems to be rare and fetches high prices on Ebay.
As you can see it is an Asian made device and was originally manufactured by someone unknown to me as a stompbox - either as a flanger, chorus, or delay depending on what was required - I have seen the board ( approx 110mm x 65mm), and it has provision for input and output plastic sockets and dc plastic socket too similar to Maxon / Ibanez devices (on the audience end) - Chandler merely made a large...
Is anybody interested in tracing the Aguilar Octomizer?
I have one a long time ago, and tried to trace it myself, but don't have the time and knowledge to do it.
I degooped the little secret part of the PCB, but I'm afraid I scratched too much and deleted the marking on an IC. And there is a smd diode broken too, that I think it's a dual smd diode, kind of 1n4148.
I can messure any resistor or capacitor, or desolder too.
Here it's a shared folder with...
I made some inroads towards tracing the PS-001 Distortion.
Turns out it is more than an MXR Distortion+ with a Muff tone control. Structurally it's more like a Boss DS-1.
(Given the similarity of the Guyatone PS-005 Overdrive to the Boss OD-1 it's not surprising there is some similarity to the Boss DS-1.)
Unfortunately there's some ambiguity regarding the tone control caps. (The two polyester caps on the middle-edge of the PCB where the wires are).
