Hello fellas, i've decided to make some contribution to this forum, and i made a layout for sabrotone's Mark IV emulator, it's NOT VERİFİED , i'm not an expert with drawing layouts. Let's make this layout work :) All the schematic work and vero layout from sabrotone.com. I'm just trying to add something to his great job :applause:

WOW, it's been a productive day.
i built up the fuzz i had laid out (slightly modified the layout, actually, didn't bother grounding all the outs)
and it fired right up, sounded pretty good.. but i wasn't satisfied with it. it was ok, and very much like the snarling dog black dog i had had tonally.
ok, but not great.
so i decided to put on my vivisection hat, and molest the circuit a bit. :icon_twisted:
first, i changed out the gain pot to a 500k instead of 1meg. it just didn't need that much...

I dont know, but it works very well (tried it on my EKO 700 and Stratocaster) Humbucker types seem a bit more pronounced, but it works like a charm nonetheless. Very greenringeresque.

hi,i have this thing in my mind ,why is not posible or maybe posible to obtain maximun distortion with only two triodes ,like a fuzz face or zonk machine,am a electronic tech but no experience in design .i ve seen a 100 schematics of valves preamps ,and all look the same ,only the ones with more valves sound good,or the ones with a solid state drive sound good(am a death metal lover,the scoop sound).i hope that someone has and idea of how to do the design or suggestion(i was thinking of a valve...

Today i had an idea, it wasn't new but well ... let's say it was very obvious. I head many complains about the fact that SMPS is used in vacuum tube designs, so i thought ... what if i can use another trick to design a HV PSU that will use a transformer and no HF switching.
The idea behind that was: yes you can use back to back transformers but that will push you to use AC only power supply, witch ... let's be serious is not so common in guitar/bass world. The main PSU for pedals and...

There's a design in Elektor this month for a guitar overdrive. They claim that it's different because it uses current drive to the clipping diodes:

It's a bit over-complicated for what it does, but it would allow remote voltage control of the drive control. If they'd been really smart, they could have made everything remote controllable....

Lifted from the first mosrite stage; it fuzzes at low gain, of course, but it's unimstakably a fuzzy fuzz.
And it cleans very well with the guitar volume.
All the transistors I tried worked, but low gain ones were a little bit better to my ears.
The 10 K input resistor is just an optional that helps the circuit to work better with other pedals and effects.

The Aim,
Build a circuit that captures the magic dynamic response of old Valve amps.
I'll save you the chatter of a novice trying to explain the endless detail with a very good example of this dynamic compression effect;

Notice how Joe B only used the on-board controls of a stock guitar with passive electronics with stunning results. Sadly Joe fails to tell the viewers that this
only works with specific types of Valve amplifiers like ye old 5E3 fenders. Few SS power amplifiers can do this...

I have an unused Drivemaster pedal which I would like to modificate a bit.

I already removed the hard clipping diodes.
When I looked at the KOT I saw that there wasn't a huge difference, only the tonestack is different.
Mark Hammer's Aefa Drive has an interesting soft clipping circuit that I want to implement too.

I would be glad reading any suggestions, so please feel free to write any idea.
The mods are in red, I'm unsure if the soft clipping in the first stage will work properly.....

Well, i'm trying to mix the blend portion of the sparkle drive with the BB Preamp.

i've breadboarded the circuit and it works... at least the blend portion works pretty well!...however it sounds to loud with the level at 12:00 even with the blend all the way to the clean side it's too loud that my amp get saturated. (The same thing happens with the blend knob all the way to the overdrive...

am thinking of using this, or elements of it, to somehow integrate into a feedback pedal, to make a stuttery-phasery-wahy fuzz-n-feedback racket every time i hit it.

it looks fun. i just wondered whether anyone here has built or experimented with it, taken it to any interesting extremes or along a curious tangent.

i also have a couple of questions re the specified components:

is the vtl5c9 was essential or could a ntl32 vactrol (with maybe a tweak of a resistor R1 or addition of a pot...

ground unused lug of perc pot. (lug 3)

output volume pot raised to 100k rather than 50k.

Here's is another ringmod thingy. A follow up on the original corruptor, sort of..
But insted of a regular oscillator it's a sequencer for carrier signal.

It also works as a stand alone sequencer synth and a regular ring mod..

i entered this on the 10th anny contest on the other forum
the schematic is right, but at the time i built this circuit, i was dicking around trying to squeeze it on to a 10x10 piece of veroboard, so it's a little different from the schematic... on the schematic, it shows the tweak control as originally envisioned. unfortunately when i built this, i was out of 1m pots. the stock perc is 750k, escobedo's is 1m, so i made it in the original schem as a 500k pot with a 470k resistor on...

I breadboarded this circuit, and stuck a 10k starve pot between +9v and VDD on the chip, like the in the ReezaFRATzitz. However, just dialling the voltage down just a tiny bit adds erratic but full-sounding sub-octave drops as evidenced here -

I've checked over the circuit several times, and it appears to be identical to Charlie Barth's OG schematic apart from the starve pot:

Lots of fun, perhaps not that practical.
