So I found these pictures on the ss/bs blog, located here:
The pictures should give someone a good start, and the other image should give all of the part values. I'm not sure what the changes were between versions. I tried my hand at figuring this out, but didn't make it too far. I figure I'll leave it to someone more experienced. There are some more pictures on the blog that I haven't attached.
the original 1176 is crazy expensive these days. i thought it'd be pretty elaborate, but looking at the original 1176 schematic, seems like a couple JFETs and a some BJTs. presumably the pedal removed the 5532 differential input. and the marketing doesn't mention any transformers so i guess they skipped that too. runs on +30V and -10V, nothing too crazy.
they're charging $359 for a pedal clone, and i bet most of that price is just based on the...
Fast forward to 10:35 for the up close board shots.
Brad The guitologist just got his and takes one apart. Its hybrid smt thru hole, sounds sick as shit.
A500k gain
Bass(booty)c5k
Output 100k
Treble(sizzle)b10k
Opamp ca3240ez(dual bi-mos)
I did spot a sot23 n ch mosfet labeled mv near the clipping switch it also looks to have LEDs in the feedback loop
Hey FSB members, I haven't seen much discussion in the area of Pigtronix and I feel that they are coming up with some new ideas as far as effect pedals go. This is their compressor pedal, actually a limited edition version. The only thing that's different, from my understanding, is that a germanium transistor is used in the GRIT engine in this particular version.
I really like the way the switch and jacks are connected, seems reliable to me? :block: It looks to be extremely difficult to trace...
This is the newest version, which adds a charge pump for 18V operation and drops the Grit distortion section, essentially the same as turning the control all the way down on the original.
There are some very minor component changes from the original Philosopher:
Tone cap from 6n8 to 1n5 - pushes the frequency from 2k up to around 8k
Sustain pot increased from 25kB to 100kB - this was...
There was an earlier schematic traced from the Demonfx ripoff , but since it's technically a different pedal and the name is spelled wrong in the thread title, I figured it would be better to start a new thread. My trace has some slight differences in component values - which could represent either measurement errors from the Demonfx trace, or errors from Demonfx when they traced the Darkglass. But overall the...
The Magpie Octal 21 is a clone of the Combs JJ-150. The circuit is an attempt to to emulate a Gibson EH-150 amp with octal tubes. It goes from Charlie Christian to Junior Barnard.
I checked the connections twice and also double-checked the values. The numbering doesn't follow the PCB at all because the PCB numbering is buried under the components.
Here the voltages, all measured against circuit ground (not DC adaptor ground), pedal on, switches off, knobs at 12 o'clock
Hi friends!
Is there any information on ProAnalog Fuzzes? I think they were top as for representing traditional rock / blues rock sound.
I found the layout on one of the forums and assembled it on
a pref board using old military soviet germanium transistors. It really sounds excellent.
I was merely tapped to post this, and I was in no way involved with the reversing or drawing the schem. I don't want it to seem like I am trying to take credit here. I'm just the messenger.
This has been played around with a bit on the breadboard, and it is believed that the schematic below is in fact an accurate rendering of the BJFE Dyna Red Distortion. The schematic was donated to FSB anonymously. Apparently this version was...
I have one of these and don't get much use out of it. Thought i would post gutshots before i sell it. Circuit is simple enough but the offboard wiring is insane as there is an LDR in the feedback loop section, 3 mini toggles, 4 jacks, 2 LEDs and 5 pots.
I had a bit of trouble rendering the offboard wiring without pulling the whole thing apart, hopefully these shots are still useful.
Circuit:
The aluminium case transistor is 2N2222 and the 2 black trannies are 2907s. The resistor...
Here's a fun tremolo! It's a pedal I had for a while, I didn't took the time to trace it until now.
The board is kind of a mess but I proceeded carefully.
Of course the chip names are sanded, but the 4017 is quite obvious. For the double op-amp, anything works pretty much, I tested the TL072, RC4558 and LM358.
The stop switch is for stopping the clock, a bypass is still needed. This switch is part of the 3PDT bypass footswitch. When the pedal is bypassed, the stop switch is closed.
The logic...
Anybody have a schematic for the Luxury Drive? I've been wanting to try one out for ages but can't seem locate one where I live. From what I've seen in pictures, it seems like a simple circuit.
I wasn't sure if I should have posted in the old Hudson sidecar thread .
In 2024 Hudson Electronics introduced the Motorcycle as a limited edition:
The Motorcycle is a modified version of our Sidecar overdrive pedal – our take on the soft clipping overdrive circuit with the added versatility of a powerful two band EQ which draws inspiration from a vintage recording console.
I have built many pedals, but I have never drawn a schematic before. I did my best to identify all the...
I sent a bunch of pics to AG a while back, but I know he has a lot more important things to worry about these days...
Unfortunately I dont have wiring photos (and I can't remember the name of the guy who sent these pics to me....) , but these should get us close. We'll just have to make an educated guess about the pot values and wiring.
Hello.
I traced a DemonFX Omicron Darkglass that appears to be a copy of the Omicron Darkglass Alfa. I ordered a few PCBs with the schematic I traced, and it works just like the original (Demonfx). The only thing I have changed is the switching bypass, which I have made truebypass (the original used a CD4003 and JFETS). The rest, as is. Here is the schematic, in case you are interested.
Hello, for everyone that loves Tone Bender MKII, here's some new stuff from Sola Sound that can maybe help avoiding the germanium instability, at least for a good measure.
I've drawn the layout (which is the same of the classic layout) according to the photos I've found here and there. It shows with some bias resistors changed and some corrections on the frequency cut for compensate the silicon brighness.
More info at
Q1 is a germanium AC127 (supposedly quite leaky), no info around Q2 and...
This is vero schematic :D
I have 2 questions
1) DA 1.1 Whether it is an obligatory part of the circuit or just closes the second half of the chip
2) DA 2.2 The voltage divider is perfectly capable of operating without a chip, why is it here?
P.S.
JFET КП303А, D7,C12,R34,R42,LED,D11 Must be removed if you want true bypass.
What in the world is this pedal? The housing is an EBK pedal, one where I can't even identify it. The guts are handwired, and I already removed a ton of silicone. I'm assuming some kind of compressor, but one of the switches doesn't even feel like it does much.
I have one of these here for a week or so. I'm kind of working on a schematic but any help would be appreciated. I'll take pics of anything you want and try and help with any values/info you need.
Here are some pics. If there is interest in this I will continue with the schematic and post it. Don't really want to post a unverified, unfinished schematic. I'll try and post some values later.
