Kamadude1216 and I traced this over at the PedalPCB forum , but figured we'd share it here, too. So, bottom line upfront, here's the schematic:
With that said, let's start off with the gutshot (behind the spoiler).
As you can see, it's built on copperless perfboard with lots of offboard wiring. Everything is gooped with a soft black rubber that was easily removed.
Here's what's underneath the rubber once it's removed:
Unsurprisingly, it's quite similar to the Paul Trombetta...
Hello.
I traced a DemonFX Omicron Darkglass that appears to be a copy of the Omicron Darkglass Alfa. I ordered a few PCBs with the schematic I traced, and it works just like the original (Demonfx). The only thing I have changed is the switching bypass, which I have made truebypass (the original used a CD4003 and JFETS). The rest, as is. Here is the schematic, in case you are interested.
I recently bought a Surfybear Compact and after I put it on my board I had an interesting issue. The Surfybear Compact has a decay dial but it didn't work when on the board. It would always be maxed out.
After some testing the culprit was found. It was the J. Rockett Archer Ikon. After contacting Surfybear someone there explained how the decay circuit works and that loud signals could mess it up. A short search on the net showed me that other people had issues with the Archer messing up...
This huge box is a preamp to run any instrument into several types of Leslie speakers. It's got four different Leslie speaker outputs that can be used individually or in combination, unlike Leslie's own combo preamps that only have a single output. High/low level inputs, volume and tone controls and two footswitches: Slow/fast rotation and power on/off.
The unit that I traced has been modded with two extra outputs on Speakon-8 connectors and a custom speed control unit. Two resistors are...
I don't think I've seen this one anywhere so I traced mine. This is my first trace so I breadboarded it to make sure it checked out.
A few things I noticed.
- Obviously Oliver left some open lugs on the pots. I drew it as is instead of fixing it.
- I didn't draw out the TRS jacks but all four are TRS.
- The Gain pot didnt have any markings and measured at 870k. I'm assuming it's a 1M and it is definitely a C taper. Probably just a part tolerance thing.
-C101 is 4u7. I've never seen a...
So. Anyone has any information on this one? It seems to be a nice sounding overdrive.
I stumbled on a blog post with a few photos, but there's not much that can be done with those. Anything more than guessing.
I'll throw in my 2c with speculating about the JRC4558 having 1N4148s and Schottkys in the feedback loop. Gain pot at A50K could point the gain setting to be closer to Marshall Bluesbreaker than a TS. 5 transistors in all, could be two AMZ mini-boosts or any other muamp...
Traced this one real quick this afternoon. 4 layer board, all traces are hidden in interior layers. Used DMM continuity to sus it out. Not 100% on the sparkle/low mids controls, but did trace it twice and got the same result. A bit rusty on tracing though, so could be wrong.
Here are some gut shots, they're the first i've taken so let me know if I need to take more. I've started to trace it and it looks pretty similar to a Build Your Own Clone compressor.
I've traced the 'Mountain Range' side of the Fuck Mountain by SS/BS. According to marketing this is the SS/BS Mountain Range circuit. The Mini/Fuck side is already out there.
It's an interesting if not rather simple circuit. I'd have done things differently for sure. That output cap could cause switch popping. You could replace it with a 100n and the new cut off frequency would not be a perceptible change.
I have not dismantled the unit as it isn't mine. Due to this; all pot...
Amptweaker's first pedal design... lots of similarities to the Tight Metal/Tight Rock, but stripped down a bit. Less gain, no noise gate, a bit less tone shaping, no switches.
I thought I'd put this up a while ago but apparently I didn't. True story.
A friend asked me to pad the XLR output on his and it would have been rude not to trace it out. This is the original one, and an early one at that (lots of mods/hacks on the PCB to make it functional). The only bit I'm not 100% on is the output buffer, it used a 4066 for switching in a way I haven't seen before and I only had it for an evening so I had to give it back. The caps were SMT, measured in circuit and removed...
I'm looking for a schematic (or even better: a vero layout) of the Earthquaker Devices Palisades overdrive. This thing is a PGS exclusive, which is pretty annoying, especially for us outside the US.
There is a gutshot in the pgs demo, but I doubt it will be useful... (gutshot at 1:45 --> )
Hi! I have an interesting device. I started working on drawing his schematic. Everything is clear. Give me time and I'll draw a diagram. If someone already has a scheme, we will cooperate. :horsey:
