I'm guessing that this topic is unspokenly off limits because there is absolutely nothing in search results for it, here or anywhere else. If I am breaking some unspoken code here by asking please just say so.
It seems to me that no one will trace a D*ellist or any other Kin*tone pedal. Perhaps out of respect for the original maker, which if so, is pretty nice. I'm just really curious about it. I've been looking for some indication of what the mods are to the TS circuit that makes it so...
So. There was one of these for sale as a defect unit on a local forum. Description said that there is some bad contacts or something , but the price was realistic. I already knew this one will be gooped, but went ahead anyway. Got it in the mail and ripped it open as soon as i found the time to do so. Sure enough. Massive loads of clear and black goop. The only real issue with the unit was the standard 3PDT stomp, which didn't work properly. Now, i had it open on my desk and... Well. The pedal...
I recently got a LAL Green Monster, a super rare fuzz and long discontinued pedal by LAL.
Since I opened it to clean it a bit, I decided to take also some gut pictures.
Some notes to the pictures:
True bypass 3PDT footswitch
Pots: Vol 10kB, Sens1 10kB, Sens2 10kB, Sens3 50kB
Wiring: Green GND, Yellow OUT, White IN, Red +9VDC
Opamps are both UA741CP, and there are only 2 components which maybe are a bit tricky to track.
These look like 2 diodes: the black one in the middle of the board (I...
This is side A of the Duellist dual pedal released as a standalone effect. It's got a couple of changes from what's inside the Duellist, but overall pretty close.
king_tone_soloist_trace_schematic.png
Basically a stripped-down Tube Screamer (Son of Screamer) with several tone options.
Full tracing journal: (includes Duellist and Heavyhand)
This is side B of the Duellist dual pedal released as a standalone effect. It's got several tweaks & added features from what's inside the Duellist, so not a direct clone, though pretty close.
king_tone_heavyhand_trace_schematic.png
Basically a Bluesbreaker/Prince of Tone with a clipping diode switch and a few different pre-clipping tonal options.
Full tracing journal: (includes Duellist and Soloist)
Hopefully this is in the right section. Been recommended to post this here from r/diypedals.
Basically, skip to the bottom to avoid the preamble. But for anyone interested in the background, I know this guy is a scumbag with a history of terrible customer service - but for the longest time I gave him the benefit of the doubt and bought his stuff because his work looked and sounded good.
That was until a couple of weeks ago when I gave one of his pedals that I love, a...
I spent a few days with this pedal and took the opportunity to trace it. Didn't triple check but this time I didn't do it at 2 in the morning so it should be alright !
I don't know if it's a clone or modded clone of something existing, but it'll sure remove the wallpaper of your house in a minute if you want it.
It's LOUD, has TONS OF GAIN, and of course, is very noisy !
I was merely tapped to post this, and I was in no way involved with the reversing or drawing the schem. I don't want it to seem like I am trying to take credit here. I'm just the messenger.
This has been played around with a bit on the breadboard, and it is believed that the schematic below is in fact an accurate rendering of the BJFE Dyna Red Distortion. The schematic was donated to FSB anonymously. Apparently this version was...
Seljetnoma kindly sent me some detailed photos of his Rockett Blue Note OD (thanks Frank), and I traced it with his help.
Looks like it's the same board and circuit as the Rockett Animal, with different component values, so someone might like to work out those values from the pic in the other thread and we can solve that one also.
If someone does it and wants to send me the values I can easily update this schemo to the new values, and post it in the other thread.
Hi Guys,
yesterday a frind of mine give me a Darkglass Duality to try.
I just opened it and shoot some pictures.
It is based on 4049UBE CMOS.
All Pots are 100kB except for the Level Pot which is 100kA.
unfortunately I cannot hold the pedal so I will start tracing the pedal from the photos. In the next few months I will have the opportunity to have the pedal back in my hands and check all the connections. If someone has the pedal and wants to help me, you can write to me in PM.
I like the sound of this one, sorry about the crappy pics.
I can try to take better ones when i get the time.
Forgot to take pics on the potz boards other side...
Looks like charge pump, relay switching, 3 smd jfets, two 5k trimpots for the jfets.
The guys at Catalinbread are pretty cool and published the schematics for the pedal they just released, the Katzenkönig! Sounds amazing in the demos and is basicaly a silicon Tonebender with a Rat clipping and tone section, pretty cool stuff!
The schematics are in the end of the pdf, hope it's ok to post the link here!
I searched for gut shots of this one and didn't find any. So, I am just letting you know that I've got a hold of this one and hope to put up the gut shots this weekend. That is, if anyone is interested... :D
I didn't know where else to post this, it seems like a unique situation. My pedal does work, but as you will see, some things regarding the build are disconcerting. Basically, they tend to ship pedals that have too large of an enclosure, and being that it's soft aluminum, they tighten the jack nuts too tight, bending the case and flexing the PCB. My question is, will this impact the pedals longevity? Even though I may have improved the issue already I need to know if the damage has already been...
Any schems around for these guys, in particular this
SUPER OSCILLO FUZZ
sound samples
i know i can make something similar easily enough but i'm still curious as to whats happening inside this one.
i'm really interested in some of these guys effects and may even buy one.lol

Here are some pictures of my personal Dunwich Wizard Fuzz #85. As it's quite a rare and now unobtainium unit, I decided to trace it.
I carefully took it apart, unsoldered all components, measured the resistors with a multimeter, measured the transistors with Atlas DC55 and noted everything down.
Then I traced it using Illustrator and drew a schematic on Kicad. I made sure my schematic doesn't contain any error, as I redid the original pcb layout on Kicad.
Anyone ever see one, open it up?
Supposedly it's similiar to the Jellyroll but uses a silicon transistor to drive a FET?
just looking for something different to build.
Hello, I disarmed my G3, desoldered pots and switch with the idea to figured out the schematic, but some help never hurts, so im here sharing this! If somebody want to help i would appreciate that.
This is what i read from the smd parts:
D3: R17 egk23
Op amps: TL072
D1 & D2: LED
Q1 & Q2: A7
Q6: 2CW5N
I think Q1 & Q2 are the diodes BAV99. But i dont know what is Q6!
I dont rearm the pedal, so if someone ask for more detail photo i can do it.
Hopefully this is the right section ,I've been working on a vero for the nobels odr-s for a bit now and thought I'd post it for anyone who is interested, it's my first big vero so if anyone has any tips on making it smaller or any corrections , feel free. It's 1590bb sized at the moment and not verified as some of the values I don't have and will be waiting till my next big tayda order.I posted this on tagboard effects as well to see what they have to say.
Here is the link to the schematic I...
