This is my first time posting here... I've been trying, for the better part of a year, to obtain this pedal. It beautifully replicates the sound of the Beatles - and much better than premium and expensive alternatives like Aclam's Dr. Robert or Jext Telez's White Pedal (no dis). Hear for yourself! Unfortunately the maker has gone completely AWOL... I was able to get a few replies from him last year but he disappeared. I think he's had enough with making pedals. His website and official social...
Is OCD just VoodooLab rippoff ( with MOSFET's instead of Si diodes) ?
I don't know - I have not seen one - but I have read that elsewhere on another forum/s - it may be true, but then it may be lies.
If you find out for sure, please let us know
---------------------------------Due to my inexorable photo skill upgrades I'm able to offer the glimpse in side a pedal I usually just leave on because there aren't any bad settings. Sadly, not only has this got traces on both sides , the designer has fabbed a hyper-secret epoxyblob that plugs into an in-line 8 pin socket. For the xistors, he's used common parts . Q1, Q2=J201, Q3=MPSA13, Q4=MPF102. I'd love to use those chromed, slotted pot dialers in my builds if I new where to get them!...
I haven't seen this one brought to the table or discussed so I thought I'd mention it. Could it possibly be a HBOD or DRD variant with less high-end filtering?
Almost a year ago I built myself a Mudhoney clone following the stripboard layout from TagboardEffects, which follows the two schematics to be found online. But as it turned out to work quite a bit different than the original I have tried to modify my build in numerous different ways to make it work as intented. But still, it didn't sound as would like it to. But now I have bought myself an old used unit and have tried to trace it!
This is my first trace and I have yet to try building...
I am very very new to building effects. I am still in the paint by numbers phase. I am only really building clones with PCBs that are readily available. I am hoping to get a better understanding as time goes on and hopefully make some cool stuff of my own.
Anyway, I have a Kingsley Harlot v2. A friend of mine traced it and made the schematic. From what I understand he changed some of the capacitors and resistors, but the original uses 630v polyester caps and 1/2...
Pretty surprised to find this official Honey Bee schematic along with a DIY kit:
Might be old news to some, but I wanted to upload the schematic before it disappears.
Wasn't sure if I should bump the old BJF Honey Bee thread from 2009, the values all match up but I guess it is technically a different version. The old thread is a nice time capsule, pretty funny to see comments like I hear Honey Bee's are vapour wear and may perhaps not exist other than in cyberspace;)
I was just wondering (and hoping BJF could answer this one) if the new Mighty Red distortion is a remake or inspired by the handmade Dyna Red distortion.
I heard some really good coments about the dyna, is it still being made?
Hi! I have an interesting device. I started working on drawing his schematic. Everything is clear. Give me time and I'll draw a diagram. If someone already has a scheme, we will cooperate. :horsey:
I had only limited time with one and was able to take this pic and write down all the component values. I took a pic of the values I wrote down, just ask if some cant be seen. I wish I could have taken out the pcb and got a trace side pic but it wasn't my pedal and they wouldn't let me. Maybe someone else can get a trace side photo or from the components piece together how it works.
reputedly based on the vox UL730 and 7120 amps for revolver/sgt. pepper-era beatles fuzz and more.
I can only guess it's based on this bit, (which appears to be a bit like the fuzzface) with the treble and bass pots merged into a mids pot. It's run on 25v in the amp circuit:

the: sustain pot could be yer typical FF Q2 emitter pot, or maybe adjusting the 220k feedback resistor like the CBread katzenkonig..There also appears to be a gate trimpot on the picture of...
Does anyone have this pedal? I really like its sound, but I have no opportunity to buy it. Based on the gut shots I found on the Internet, it looks like a hybrid between op-amp and classic big muff

If someone is also interested in this pedal and he can understand the circuit, or at least the principle of operation of this pedal, I would be very grateful
any body play or have one of these ? curious to find out what mods might have been done to original rat, maybe a refinement of the ruetz mod, which is ok but seems to take off a little too much distortion and makes it less forward overall.
