stumbled on this and don't think it's been posted before - a DAM pedal for the Japanese market only... lots of yen...
Prob not of interest to most as a YAFF - if not a complete replica of the Fuzz Face... (2 transistors - silicon in one BC108B, ge NKT 275s in the other); 3 caps - one 2.2uf input; 4 resistors (never sure of the colours on these carbon ones - seem to have 33k; 80K?... others I can't work out... is the band blue, purple, gold, grey or what! :|
Still about $225 ! If It's priced below $200 it's not really boutique of course. A great but sometimes weird though relevant interview with Cesar Diaz in a free extract from Tonequest
He says he replaced the NKT's in SRV's Fuzz Faces with American equivalent, maybe the PNP NTE102 as the Squareface is NPN NTE103
Looks really cool. What do you think is meant by we didn't invent this IC... ? I'd love to have a small 'verb pedal on my board. Any other leads to something similar would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
Since the dawn of time, musicians have tried to cram a giant spring reverb in a little tiny enclosure. We bitches at Malekko have worked tirelessly like watchmakers for many years on this project alone-- spiraling springs into enclosures only to have them pop out like a peanut can full of...
Apparently this was a limited run of 30 that was made just for sale on TGP. :thumbsup
It's medium-high gain drive, or what we called distortion back in the late 80s. It actually reminds me of the Lovepedal Superlead, which is reminiscent of other 80s heavy drives.
Once the goop is off, I'll post the full schematic.

Here's an anonymous donation to the forum! It's a tracing of the Lovepedal - Englishman. One thing is uncertain - the wiring of that double-pole-double-throw on/off/on switch.
Here's a couple of pictures of the PCB, a schematic and a vero layout. There are some more hi-res pictures of the PCB that I can upload if people want to have a look.
Thank you for this, whoever you are!
The Englishman has just had some minor surgery and the diode switching is now confirmed as correct 8) (New image...
We approached the Manifold Drive a little differently. We didn't just copy an old proven design, instead we had specific goals in mind and designed a new overdrive circuit from the ground up to meet our expectations.
...well! Will see. Should be here any time. I hope to see it gooped, I want to become Degoop Doctor
Ive looked everywhere for a schematic on this. I can't find one for the life of me. It's the best fuzz I've ever played, and it looks like a simple build, but I simply can't figure out what's in it. Ive found gut shots, but theyre not doing me any good. Its a silicon/germanium fuzz, with a bias switch. I really want this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
This is about the monster effects swamp thang, a Tremolo. A tremolo that POPS when turned on and off.
Here's the swamp thang:
Here's the PCB (Mojo Alert!!):
Enjoy the firm way it's mounted in it's box. (Why is that PCB + Box so bloody high anyway?)
And the stuff underneat that PCB:
Interesting to see that someone has hand-layouted this one with a pen and a ruler. Considering all connecting traces are at the component side and non on the bottom side we might expect to be looking at a...
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm an amateur when it comes to wiring but I've gotten good enough to wire my guitars and plan to get into effects soon. I'm hoping to be around a lot more often.
Anyways, I just picked up a completely battered treble booster. I can't find much on it. It's called a GeekMacDaddy GeekRanger. Strange name, lol.
I haven't gotten a chance to play it properly yet. I've been using my HBE Germania until I work on my board. The description says this...
This pedal seems really similar to the acetone fuzz master fm-2.
I am having trouble making out the transistor values on gutshots, they seem strange to me.
Also the values of the big red caps. I think all electrolytics are 10µF.
IMHO, one of the few 'professional' pedal makers that have the balls to make weird sounding, original pedals. :applause:
Here's the Rattle Crow schematic -
here are some gutshots of the TC Jauernig Gristle King. It seems a bit different to the TRex version. Can anyone help with a schematic? Unfortunately i dont have access to the underside of the board....
I noticed that you moved the Fuzz control from the traditional spot on the emitter of Q2 to the input. So the Fuzz is essentially on full and the knob now works much the same as rolling back the volume on the guitar with an original FF. This makes sense to me.
Why did you rig it up the way you did, with a separate 1M resistor off the sweep to ground? Why not just connect the jack to lug 1 of the pot, log 3 to ground and the sweep...
Here are some quick shots; I know they're crappy. I'll upload larger ones with those pesky pots removed later this week when I get some more time. I'll also add resistor/cap values to them.
Does anyone have the schematic for this one? I've been asked to implement the 'fuzz' mod by removing a 1N4001 diode. I'd like to understand the function of that diode.
If there's a schematic available, much appreciated! Else I'll probably have a chance to trace it myself (and post here ofcourse)
