The Chili Picoso is based on the Orman MOSFET boost. I've built the Orman circuit and liked it. Does anyone know what Catalinbread did to the circuit to change it up?
How would I go about adding that Fat/Clean switch to the Orman circuit. Seems like a cool idea.
Any other ideas for mods is obviously appreciated. :thumbsup

Just built myself a Cornish buffer so this mess is coming off. Sounds good but man that kind of wiring leaves a lot to be desired. Plus, he couldn't even be bothered to cut the electrical tape cleanly -- it looks like he gnawed on his with his teeth. :lol:

A great friend of mine was asking me if I could build him a Soul Bender. I researched a bit and it seems to be a 3 Knob Colorsound Tone Bender. People say that the GGG Boutique Bender is the same as the Fuller version.
Can anyone verify this?
I tried a Soul Bender years ago at a studio with a cranked up tube amp and my impression was it was like a smoother Rangemaster without the exagerated treble boost. Not all that fuzzy, just a nice sensitive ballsy boost. Most of the 3 Knob Bender...

Finally can give back to the forum that has taught me so much. Sorry that this had taken me so long, better late than never I guess. Finally got the confidence to take the board out. Thought I was going to have to desolder the switch, but i just lifted, pressed the switch and it popped out. There are two boards. I will work on getting component values throughout the week when I have time to sit down and do it. I'll keep the board out for a while, if there is a particular picture or angle let me...
I love this pedal but I just can't afford to buy another one nor do I want to gig my original, so I'd like to clone it in an omage to it's awesomeness. Anybody have schematics or know where I can find them? Thanks a bunch!!

I play LES PAUL + ORANGE AMPS + VINTAGE 30's speakers and I've used it on two tracks of my album... AMAZING!!!
I got this pedal recently and really dig it on bass. I have no real interest in reverse engineering, but maybe someone here is interested in how this thing works.

Here is a schematic from a trace I did of an old version of the DD. The version without Barber on the front and no box around Direct Drive . And a single layer PCB that has trim pots for presence and bass. I found it best to my ear at the bread-board stage of development to just set the presence and bass for a particular tone that I like and forget it. Those setting work very well for me for a wide range of guitars and amps.
