I just found this pedal: ... the FIX'D FUZZ. Sounds somewhat interesting, maybe anyone has some informations?
4 transistors stages ... first thought: BMP. After reading the manual my guess is a tonebender with an added BMP-style tone-control including the last transistor-stage of the BMP.
Hi there,
These are great pedals, from a really nice builder.
Is there any info one what's in a screamer and a screamer fuzz?
Here are some guts shots.
This Rangemaster variation has been making some waves. The youtube clips/demos sound real good. People are really talking them up online. Pretty neat inside. Dude obviously has a thing for purple.
Love the 6 way rotary switch for different input caps. Also dig the 3PDT for switching between Si and Ge. I've never used one. I built a DAM Red Rooster clone I'm very happy with, which uses that same CV7112 Ge that The Squawk uses.
Alright guys. Sorry for the delay on this but I've got a sick amplifier that I've been trying to repair before a couple of shows later this week. I took some quick gut shots over the weekend and will be able to take more and attempt a first run at a schematic this weekend. Unfortunately the board is fixed to the enclosure using some kind of double-sided pad/styrofoam thing. Anyone have experience or suggestions with safely removing a board from that kind of thing?
Got one of these in the shop for repair so I de-gooped it and here ya go... Transistors are un marked but look like bc108's or something in that area..
Ever wondered whats inside the HBE Tramp ? Have a look:
HBE Tramp guts
So what can we see ?
4 transistors...not realy much.
On the right side we have two electrolytics connected together and then a 47 Ohm resistor going to a poti.
In the middle we have two transistors, collectors connected together, base resistor 33k....
Ok, enough, I don´t have time to trace a blatant copy. Better take the original:
Here's one of the latest D*A*M custom one off - B-13 BOOST .
It was drawn based only on one gut shot, so there's few unconfirmed component values, but I think it could be prettey much OK and should work fine.
It's slightly modified D*A*M red rooster with added switchable output capacitor (F.A.C rotary switch).
It's sports rare White Jacket Mullard OC81D - PNP germanium transistor, so it has positive ground.
Standard for rangemaster bias string 470K/68K was changed and it could be 470K/56K...
Anybody got verified scehmatics for Hatchet Harry and Blind Mary?
Both circuits are tweeked Zonk Machine (Harry) with a JHS Treble Booster (Marry) from Shatterbox.
Hey looks like a nice Germanium boost. Has anyone had the Flickinger Rude box open? Would love to see the Vero he did of this. Sounds like the booster I've been looking for. Anyt thoughts or Pics!??!
this was the only pic I could find... probably a Ge NPN boost woudl love values if anyone has it..
First off, here are some things about the new production unit - things that don't pertain to its appearance - that I imagine you would like to know (I will go into its appearance in a separate post):
Aside from the new switchable buffer/true-bypass feature, the circuit of the new unit is identical to that of the discontinued Centaur with one exception necessitated by the new feature: a 2-megohm resistor was added to prevent switching pop from...
