Any interest in this pedal? I just got one and can post pics if anyone wants to work on this. I am not too good at tracing but I can identify most of the components.
I snagged this one for what I considered a pretty good price, so I thought I'd post about it. I don't know how British it is since it says, Made In The U.S.A. on the bottom, but it certainly is a nice-sounding OD. I was pleasantly surprised. The Mids knob gives pretty good control of your tone, and this thing goes from pretty mild to a sweet, fairly natural-sounding overdrive. No heavy distortion on this one.
I noticed there was no thread about this particular beast, so I figured it would be a...
There was at least 1 cap on the solder side of the board, but I couldn't get a better peak, as this wasn't my pedal to take apart. Anybody got a Boosta Grande handy for comparison? I found a gut shot online from an older BBE pedal and their info was in the top left corner of the PCB, where....what a coincidence...there is nail polish in that area on the Betty Boost.
Hey guys. I have discovered some cool looking pedals on E-Bay. Chinese pedals being sold out of Texas. I just got these pedals in. Here are some gut shots.
The Double press Drive first
First impressions from playing is it is definitely heavy ish, like a medium gain drive, not really fuzzy, kind of opened, not to compressed. When I first saw it I figured it must be a Honey something clone, now I am not so sure, not as touch sensitive as I thought, more OCD like in that regard.
'O', this adjusts the amount of overdrive. As you turn up the knob, wave shaping is applied. This wave shaping was inspired by 1940s analog computer technology ...
This post ( ) from the catfight thread intrigued me. Yet, it seems that the Freekish picture is some mockup. So I got some pics of the actual outside from gearmandude´s demo:

What is fascinating is the wierd star nut on the tone switch. Very interesting...
Haven't been here in a while and a search didn't turn anything up. I don't really know the story other than it's supposed to be a cranked Hiwatt ala Townshend and only 100 were made. Seems kinda cool
I bought one of these recently. Sounds like an Ugly Face, but a little different. Maybe it's more like a Crash Sync with an envelope. Seems to use an interesting chip the 4047.

Switching noise Has anyone come across this problem? I suspect the cmos solid state switches are introducing this annoying pop/click on all of the 3 mechanical buttons. Any Ideas where I could get a schematic for this unit?
Sorry about the I-photo pictures, my phone is worse! I figured you guys could probably do something with these shots though. If you want specific details I can try to relay them, or take better/closer pictures soon with a friends camera. Be warned though, I'm just a curious customer and not very technically minded so it may take me awhile to answer any component questions.
Inside, I find no goop but there is nail polish. You can see it specifically covering something on the bottom right...
Hello,
Over a year ago I had heard about a mod for the Hughes & Kettner - Tube Replex - where you are able to cancel out the Dry signal utilizing a switch (SPDT i assume). The person talking about this mod would not reveal it due to wanting to market the mod over the internet. After months of harassing the wonderful folks at Hughes & Kettner. (a company with only a few US dealers is a mother to get a hold of let alone schematics for their products)!! I finally got the schematic!! Which i...
I'm new here, I've found all the work everyone's done here a big eye opener. I got into Guitar Amplifier design/building last year and now got interested in what makes pedals tick. Anyway, I wanted to contribute, so I de-gooped my Keeler Pull. A great boost/low gain pedal. It was an eye opener in just how difficult it is to remove that crap! Since it was my first time, I suck and broke a few things in the process. I'm in the middle to trying to trace the circuit. I have identified...
I've been tracing a rev 1 board, but its been slow go, so I figured I would throw the pics up and see if anyone wants to attempt a trace (that is if we are even allowed to do this)
Hi guys and girls, while watching Lovetone Big Cheese demo on You Tube the guy ended demo with a little text where was written that if it is expensive for you to buy it you can build OLC Chunky Cheese which is almost identical in sound to the Lovetone product! A little search and I luckily I found it! Be patient while downloading, it's a 25 page document!
Don't know if there's any interest in this one here. I got it in a trade and am fairly disappointed by it. Kind of weak fuzz with a fairly useless oscillator. Pitch is fairly deep and uninteresting (I say this as someone who primarily uses it in a noise band). Here are photos, it goes out around noon tomorrow in a trade, so ask any questions for more shots now or forever hold yer piece. I am fairly certain the board is the same as the one found in the of someone using one.
