I need some help with biasing the transistors in this Build the Wolfgang 61. I adjusted the drain voltage to around 4,4-4,5V expect for Q11 because I only have a range of 9-6,5V? I’ve got some sound out of it but the volume was so low I had to crank the volume of my 120w stereo combo to like 7-8 to be able to hear it very quietly when I wanted to increase like postgain r for example it started to make weird sounds and would get loud as fuck also there wasn’t any real fx applied to...

Hi,

I build this pedal from PCB Guitar Mania and if I use it with a dirt pedal in the loop of the Terminator itself all works well.
However, when I try to use it in the Serial Effects send / return of my Amp the signal of the guitar is sent straight to the effects return, instead of the guitar out of the Noise Terminator.

Anyone experienced this problem?

In the above thread people wrote that they used their circuit with 12V or 18V power supplies, because the Randall circuit used 24V. But in the build doc of the Vandal from Hell it says 9V.

Hi all.

After some trouble with my build i found a small piece of wire (with help of a magnifying glass and some patience) which was connecting the leads of two resistors. I also found a lead where the isolation was defective and one could see the bare wire. But i'm pretty sure the wire was not touching anything.
So far so good.

Hi guys I bought the Appetite for Distortion pedal from PCB Guitar Mania but it's barely making any sound.

I put the red LED backwards (facing up instead of down) so i removed it and i struggle to put it back the right way. I dont think this affects the sound though.

When the pedal is off, the signal is passed through cleanly. When it's on, i can hear the distortion, but it's super low output signal, i can barely hear it. I don't know where i went wrong.

Your help would be appreciated....

I already build a few pedals from pcbguitarmania and other sites. The only time i had to adjust something was when i build a phaser. In that case it was done by ear.

I`m not sure what to do with the three trimpots on the calvin vai.
How should that sound? Are there some voltages i should measure somewhere? Nothing about the pots in the building docs for that pedal.

Would someone be so kind and can advise on this?...

Hi, I'm a little bit stumped - I grabbed a Ghost Device PCB recently ( and built it the other day - however, there seems to be an issue where the output is drastically lower when engaged than when not engaged. Aside from that, I can hear the reverb, it seems to be working as expected (though I don't truly know, I've never heard one)

Swapped out the TL072s, PT2399, and the diode hoping it was something simple, but none had an effect. Doesn't seem to be any unnecessary grounds, bridges, or cold...

I‘m completely new to the pedal building game and I‘m having some start problems. I build the Sinner Bass Drive from PCB and it doesn‘t do ANYTHING. I was pretty confident that I soldered all the parts in their rightful places but maybe there‘s something I‘ve forgotten. How do I best go about finding the problem with such a project?

I have build a Knight of Tone from PCB Guitar Mania which plays very well. Now the building docs recommend to try it without the Charge Pump if using it with a lot of overdrive.
The doc says there is a graphic which shows howto bypass the charge pump.
Unfortunately I‘m not able to find the required information or graphic.

Looking at the schematic, I’m wondering if I simply need to remove IC3 and that‘s it. Can somebody confirm that?

I built the Electric Lover project from Guitar PCB Mania. Its a modernized Electric Mistress clone. It is passing signal, but I cannot get it to bias up correctly. There is only a small range of the BIAS trimpot near max-clockwise position that allows signal to pass, regardless of the settings for the CLOCK, T1 (max feedback), and VOLUME trimpots. Here are the directions for the setup:

Set Clock and Bias in the middle, at 12 o’clock.
Set T1 and the Rate knob fully...

When opening up the case of my MXR carbon copy the stomp switch fell apart. I replaced it but now the pedal does not pass signal. Well, actually you still can hear the pop being delayed when either the battery or input is plugged in with the pedal turned ON. There is no signal with switch in both positions otherwise.

I have soldering experience working on tube amps but little on pedals and PCB's. I wonder if I damaged the board or something? The original switch was a major pain to get out and...

Hello everyone! I recently purchased the Sun Beta Lead kit through Das Musikding. I've just finished assembling the pedal and I've noticed that I wired the DC Jack reverse. So I corrected the issue and the LED turns on but the pedal emits a continuous, very high pitched whistle and if tapped on the enclosure it makes a very loud pop through my amp. I don't know if some component failed or something else...I don't know what to do!

I recently purchased a Sunn beta lead kit (schematic pcb guitar mania here After soldering everything, I just have a huge hissing sound, sometimes with kind of distortion, but nothing else, the sound is pretty unstable and reacts really bad to any note I can play.

The circuit is built around a charge pump that is supposed to deliver -15/+15 from a LT1054, and this component is really overheating as soon as I plug the pedal.

Hello! Longtime lurker, first time poster.

I recently built this pedal. All seems well but when I turn it on, I get a rhythmic clicking and the LED pulses at the same right. No signal is passed (though it passes freely when in bypass) and adjusting the rate knob does not alter the rate of the click/led. This seems like a very specific issue so I'm hoping there's *a* cause that somebody can direct me to?

I'm not skilled in electronics but there's maybe something wrong in this circuit or in my building...
When I use 6 stages phaser it's ok and I like the sound but when I switch to 5 stages phaser then there's evidently a lack of bass, as if there was an high pass filter somewhere... In the forum, someone else says the same thing about this circuit.

Does anyone have the pdf file of the tracks layout for this PCB?
I would like to cut the track that goes from R24 to R26 in order to switch...

I built the Master Phaser from PCB Guitar Mania and the functionality seems to be all there. However, the switch (which I believe switches between 5 and 6 stages) also causes a pretty big bass cut - like a high pass filter - when switched to the DOWN position. I don't know what number of stages is UP switch and DOWN switch as this is not in the documentation. Surely this isn't normal?

I know it might be a more obscure build and maybe I am unsure of the nature of 5 and 6 stage phasing and...

happy to make my first post, sad because it starts with a problem.

I built an Orange Rockerverb Preamp based on the attached schematic from pcb mania. It's a relativly straight forward build using the Rockerverb preamp circuit and replacing the tubes with j201 jfets. I dialed the jfets to 4.5V and everything sounds fine.
However as soon as I play hard on the guitar the sound slowly starts distorting and finally cuts out completely.
