Hi,
Polish manufacturer realised new daley project - PT2399, but without famous distortion in delay effect. It uses NE571 to keep signal clean or whathever. What do you think?

I think because companding is a technique to minimise (clock)noise introduced by the BBD chip. In a PT2399 there is not much audible clock noise introduced. Yes there is distortion if you push it too hard or if your delay time is too long. The only search I was aware of is to reduce the distortion on longer delays. (the LED trick limits the output level of the chip)
