Aguilar - Agro Bass Overdrive

Hey guys was wondering if anybody has a schem or know what the aguilar od is based on. No pun intended!
Bass player in the band needs an OD and I heard this one sounded great. I could build up a OD and voice it for bass but this was spot on... Any help would be great... Thanks

The pedal is the same I think.
I might be able to get that schematic.

Are you sure this is the pedal? This looks more like the dirt channel of one of the heads that the Agro pedal is supposed to be based on. Symmetric power, 'channel' and 'deep' switches, FMV stack and all...

Just counting the number of variable resistors (6?) in the schematic makes me wonder whether this is really the AGRO...but maybe some of them are internal gain trim pots? There are gutshots here, but you need to sign up to see full res versions of the pics..

Is that a goop block?modman wrote:...There are gutshots here, but you need to sign up to see full res versions of the pics..

Yes, it's a goop block. The Tone Hammer has the same. Plastic outer frame, hard and shiny epoxy in the middle. You can see how some traces enter and leave the gooped area. If anyone is willing to teach me how to degoop without sacrificing my Tone Hammer, I might take a crack at this.

When removing epoxy goop there is no guarantee that you will not damage something.
In fact there is a high probability that you will so if you if you aren't prepared to make good some damage then it is probably best not to attempt it.
The method is to heat the goop with a soldering iron and remove it bit by bit with dental picks and tweezers while trying not to destroy the components and tracks with too much heat and avoid picking the components off by mistake.
It is a long tedious job and the result looks a real mess but it is doable.

Why not trace it as is. It doesn't look like a lot of useful stuff is under the goop, if any.
After tracing you will have a few wires/tracks entering the goop. From the surrounding circuit
you can guess what might be in there.
(Maybe compare against Chicago Mike's schem. However, it looks different to the PCB.)
