Hello there!
I am working on a FX30 and i have some issues.
First of all i replaced the 500KB pot with a 500KA and i think it works better.
The main problem is that i have a volume and tone loss when i engage the pedal.
I use 2 LM358 dual op amps and a 2n7000 replaced the j113.I tried and a BS170 but i think the volume loss is bigger.
What do you suggest to do ?Thanks.

There shouldnt be signal loss, even though you have some kind of filtering issue...
I'd take a look in the ICs, first.
About the transistor...
And besides the function and pinout, I'd asume you spent time reading the datasheet of both of them, looking differences/similarities... Didn't you???
You should take a look in the FET orientation, because it is not clear in that scheme which are Drain and Source pins, and the other scheme has no FET...

- J113 > Switch JFET
2N7000 > MOSFET Enhancement

Why does the schematic call for CD4007 (dual complimentary pair + inverter) and the layout by Andy calls for merely a 1n4007? I just tried building it by request using the CD4007 following the FX30 schematic 100%.
The layout and the schematic are different.
For example: Q1, the 2n5089, in the schematic, connects to a 10k which connects to an unlabeled diode to ground at C, then to power, and at B, a 100K to 1n4148 and the CD4007.
In the layout, Q1 at C connects to a 47k resistor to power (no diode in line), and then to a 1n4148, which connects to the Threshold knob.
The Q2 is also setup differently.
These are totally different layouts and schematics.
Which has been tested?
