This was my first pedal, it's a moderate gain distortion.

Neither on the metal housing nor inside on the PCB there is a logo, a script or a hint about who is the maker of this box.

Unfortunately it was also my first attempt to customize a pedal so there are two extra diodes for what seemed a cool "octave-fuzz" effect,
and some pots, the DC in, the battery holder and the on/off led went away.

I also did a research on google but seems that almost nobody knows or have ever seen this pedal.

I post here some pictures I took of what remains of the pedal, maybe I will reuse some components for my future projects...

To be honest, those pedals were made by an outside company and could possibly be found under other names. I think Tronix was another.

Most of the pedals of this series are identical to Panther/Digiplay/Loco Box/... pedals.

I have a lot of them, even the Washburn Hand Clap, and I just bought some more on eBay (chorus, eq and another one).

I don't think the Tronix pedals are related, the size of the black Tronix pedals is a little different, same as the Bros and Sound City pedals IIRC. The grey Tronix pedals are Coron pedals.

I always wonder if there's another Google when I read something like this. I just put this model number and the name in google and I see a lot of hits

Thanks Niki! Very cool circuit - like all those JFET amp simulators that are so popular now!

I have one SIAB. I traded my TS-9 in the 80s for this... never used it. It is still in the original box.

Mmmh, maybe it's good for spare parts, since it was not very good sounding. Also if you read the reviews on H-C, you will see that I'm not alone in saying so...

OK, I'm reviving this 1+ year old thread. Sorry...

I have this pedal to, and I'm just getting into modding my own effects. I'd like to add some gain and volume to this thing. Looking at the schematics, what components could I swap out or add to make this happen? Anyone have any ideas? Just curious...

i would first check to make sure that those JFET stages are biased properly. then if you still aren't happy, you could add some clipping diodes in the feedback loop of 2nd op amp stage. you could try a increasing the coupling cap between the buffer and the first FET stage as well, but that might muddy things up a bit. without hearing it i couldn't tell for sure. increasing those source bypass caps would also make it gainier in the low end as well, but again you have to be careful for the mudds. there's lots of options with this thing. hell, you could ad some clippers to ground after the FET stages and bring the volume back up with the IC amplifier stage. maybe replace one or two of the FET stages with a BMP type clipping stage. bypass with a cap or lower the 1M resistor between the 2nd and 3rd FET stages. raise the value of the volume pot. any of these things might help. go nuts. 8)
