Sweet! 5W output to a seperate speaker....... would that be enough?
Nice idea!

jered, thanks for posting ! .... i've got one of these and i like it muchly .... i may clone up the preamp circuit in the future
Information
There are at least one or more errors on the schematic. D6 must to be the other way around
Somebody else could notice another error?

Information
Yes, but it would be too quiet! My Talk Box has a TDA2030 as the amplifier IC, giving about 15 Watts rms to the little speaker. That's just loud enough for stage use.coldcraft wrote:could a workalike be done up using an LM386 variation?
"Why is it humming?" "Because it doesn't know the words!"
Information
I'm currently traying to clone one of these. I designed a PCB/Layout myselfskylark44 wrote:I'd love one...anyone interested in building me one for a few $$$? (I'm too cheap to spend that much, on the "real deal: ).
Probably in one or two weeks I'll post my work

Sure, I'll do...coldcraft wrote:please share when you get there! also, what are you planning to use for the driver?
For the driver, uhm... I bought a "standard" (generic) 8ohm driver (it costs arround USD$14)
PCB/Layout is ready to print. I'm waitting for my parts, they sould arrive tomorrow...
I'll take shots in order to file everything...

mictester - did you buy or make yours?? Are you willing to share a schem??mictester wrote:Yes, but it would be too quiet! There is no need to build a separate amplifier to achieve this effect ...
You can connect the speaker with a proper crossover to the same amplifier speaker output normally used:
Remember thath the "Talk Box effect" is produced at the PA speaker that amplify the microphone you use to modulate the sound coming from the plastic pipe. The talk box is not an effect itself.
Of course will need some plumber pieces to make an adaptation :
Cheers,
Jose

Right, but what if you want to use it as a stomp box in your pedal chain?ppluis0 wrote:There is no need to build a separate amplifier to achieve this effect ...

in that case Banshee is ideal...

Great...let me know when it's done, good luck .arayita wrote:I'm currently traying to clone one of these. I designed a PCB/Layout myselfskylark44 wrote:I'd love one...anyone interested in building me one for a few $$$? (I'm too cheap to spend that much, on the "real deal: ).

Hi there!
Last night I finishied my PCB prototype, and....
It wooooorks!
My banshee clone sounds pretty good, and it's really loud (take into account that TDA2614 gives just 5W)
I have noticed an error with bypass system. I'm using a relay as in the original, but when effect is "off" a small signal from the guitar leaks on speaker driver I'm trying to solve this problem...
Ah, by the way, where have I post my final work?

Congratulations! Please post pictures. About the layout and schematic files, you can atach the files directly on the board, or upload it in 4shared or something like that and post the link here.

Here we go... My updated Schematic
I corrected D6 position. I made some little changes to switching circuit. When I finished my first prototype, I had some problems when effect was "off", so I decided to use a little trick with TDA2614. If you connect preamp out to pin2 (mute) IC is automatically bypassed, then we have no noises from speaker driver. These are the changes that I made to original schematic.
Enjoy it, it's 100% verified!
PS: Coming soon... my banshee talkbox clone review + PCB/Layout for my friends of FSB!
